I used to hope we had good people in the CIA and other friendly countries that were trained as Jet. I felt safer that way. Older and wiser now I expect we have these types, just not sure how safe that makes us. Love the Jet series! Russell does not disappoint!

Loved the book! And it was free. Is the excerpt the next book or number II? Read the 40 chapters and didn't skim any of this book. Violence and death involved; not for the faint-hearted.

There are purists that may complain about tactics, guns or some other minutia. Realists may say that the sort of things depicted could not/would not happen. And, for the sake of discussion, I would agree to ALL of their complaints. However, if you like excitement, action, gun fights, chases, evil men getting their just comeuppance, as do I, then this is your book. It was fun. It was enjoyable. It was a page turner. Well OK, I read it on my NookColor, but you take my meaning. Read the book.

This book was a good read for a hot day when I didn't have anything pressing to do and didn't feel like going outside and sweating through the afternoon.

Maya, not yet code name Jet, was performing her obligatory military training under a leader out to see her fail for rebuking his attempts at intimacy when her best friend is killed on duty by terrorists. Maya sneaks out to determine where and what they have planned to get her own revenge even if it's to report a planned attack knowing her Superior officer would rather punish her than listen. Despite the fear of punishment she learns the identities of the terrorists, their location and bomb maker only to get caught in a shoot out that sees her arrested by the same Superior once the 'cavalry' comes to quell the carnage she began. Locked up in chains, her attorney not believing her story, he brings a Mossad officer hears her story, tests her and sneaks her away into training her properly while seeing her Superior officer demoted to perform menial tasks. The rookie agent, Maya, gets assigned look out duty on her first assignment and ends up saving her team. Jet Ops files is a prequel to the serial and we'll worth the read. If you like Mark Dawson's Books, by all means read Russell Blake's Jet serial.

I've always enjoyed books like this - fast, action-packed with an mazing lead character. From a slow night at a checkpoint to blowing up an arms dealer's island abode, this book kept me busy through the first few days of the month. I was squirreling away time each night to read more of the book, staying up until my eyes would no longer stay open. Similar to James Rollins' Tucker Wayne novels, and other military/spy fictions, I would recommend this book to anyone I know who reads similar stuff.
