Bright and colorful photographs fill up every page as the young reader learns about many different kinds of jets and their parts. Although the text is simple and minimal, its content is rich and informative. Readers, especially those with an already established interest in airplanes, will delight in comparing the different types of jets. Furthermore, they will feel empowered with new vocabulary such as rudder, delta wings, ailerons, and landing gear. A glossary at the end of the book defines all words in bold within the story and a diagram of a jet with labeled parts reinforces newly-learned information. Additional facts about jets are included at the book's end along with an index. This is a great book to bring along on a trip to distract a young child's mind from travel inconveniences. Pre-school teachers will benefit from having this on their bookshelves. This is part of the "Pull Ahead Books-Mighty Movers" series, 2005, Lerner Publications Company, and Ages 2 to 6.
