Jewels of the Sun (Irish Jewels Trilogy Series #1) by Nora Roberts

Book One of the Gallaghers of Ardmore Trilogy

In Gallagher’s Pub, where the fire is burning low and the pints are waiting, #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts has a story to tell...

Determined to reevaluate her life, Jude Murray flees America to take refuge in Faerie Hill Cottage, immersing herself in the study of Irish folklore and discovering hope for the future of the magical past.

Finally back home in Ireland after years of traveling, Aidan Gallagher possesses an uncommon understanding of his country’s haunting myths. Although he’s devoted to managing the family pub, a hint of wildness still glints in his eyes—and in Jude, he sees a woman who can both soothe his heart and stir his blood. And he begins to share the legends of the land with her—while they create a passionate history of their own.

A-Truly-Hopeless-Romantic More than 1 year ago
I went on a HUGE Nora Roberts trilogy binge several years ago and recently started downsizing my collection. THIS is NOT 1 of the trilogies that is going anywhere! This and the Born In trilogy are absolutely my favorites!! Highly recommend! LOVE LOVE LOVE Nora Roberts books. Makes a girl have something to look forward to as she dreams of love and life and what lessons are to be learned along the road to both.

I love this series! I love the mix of romance and fantasy. It makes me want to take a vacation to Ireland to see where Nora Roberts gets her inspiration!

I don't read romance that often. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I usually enjoy other books more. I love the series "In Death" published under J.D. Robb, so every once in a while, I'll pick up a Nora Roberts book. I always enjoy them, I just don't usually seek them out. This was no exception. It was a really good for a romance book. I loved the Irish parts of it. Now some people I'm sure hate the Irish cliches, but in a book like this I think it's wonderful. I love the setting, the folklore, and the people. And the romance part wasn't to over the top for me. It's part of a series, but I think it works as a stand alone book as well. While the main characters in #1 are still in #2, they are no longer the focus. And I assume the same for #3.

I hate to see another trilogy - that means I have to wait for #2 and #3 to come out without being totally impatient!!! I've read all her work and look for more.

It took me a couple of chapters to really get interested in this book, but suddenly the characters blossomed and became real. They make true to life mistakes and don't just jump into love. The setting is made to be true and visual. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and even rainy at times. On the side, the fairytale magic is so believable. This is a great book and you'll want to read the whole trilogy to see how the Gallagher family evolves. After Aiden and Jude's story in Jewels of the Sun read about Shawn and Brenna in Tears of the Moon, and finally Darcy's story in Heart of the Sea.

This novel is light reading and entertaining and am looking forward to reading the next two. Nora Roberts does a great job in writing romance novels.

I just finished the first book to this series. It was wonderful. The descriptions of Ireland in this book are amazing. Jude's character is a practical woman who, like alot of us women are, lives her life to please others. That is until her marriage falls apart, her career gets tiresome and she takes a sudden trip to Ireland where she meets the very handsome, Aiden. Aiden seems to be the kind of guy who turns out to be a crazy one night fling but like so many of Nora's books turns into so much more... the only complaint i have about this book was Aidens proposal wasnt something youd expect from his character (well the first 2 proposals at least) the last proposal was more the character youd been reading about...the magical side if this book isnt like her others...the ghost woman doesnt communicate and she appears once in a while but doesnt try to get the characters to help her as in previous books ive read by Nora...but as i said in thebeginning another great start to the series...on to book two

This book was captivating. I loved the story line. I can't wait to read the next in the series. I was slightly disappointed in the ending but simply because I wasn't ready for it to end. The characters are ones you really connect to and can relate to.

Jewels of the Sun (last book in the series) was defiantly a Nora Roberts book. Roberts' uses a fairy and a ghost from 300 years ago and ties them into the future of 3 different couples that live in today's world. I love to read fiction books, but not where the main characters might be super-human. Instead this series is most defiantly a romance novel with the main characters being regular men and women and contains a little bit of fantasy in terms of the characters and the plot. Words that I would describe this book as: Romance, Love, Fantasy, Light Humor

This is the first Nora Roberts book I have read, and I was impressed. I love Irish folklore and history, and this book even though fiction, was very entertaining. The plot was easy to follow and very romantic. The scenery was beautifully described and all in all I loved the book. I plan on reading more of her work, and of course the other two in this series.

This is one of the best from Nora. I couldn't put this book down. The legends and characters keep you motivated until the last page. I can't wait for the next two come out!

I just finished reading Jewels of the Sun. It was a fun-filled panaromic love story that just screams for sequels for the other members of the Gallagher family. I am a Nora Roberts fan for life and I can't wait to gobble up all her other titles I have let slip past me.

As always a Nora Roberts book is always delightful. I enjoyed how she brought Irland to life with her tale of romance there. I am looking forward to the next book in line to the trilogy.
