A original story. Author Karin De Havin has immersed this story in magic and comedy. She has entwined a wonderfully modern story with a Victorian era past. Her characters are engaging and personable, so easy to fall in love with. She has a way of writing a story that just sticks with the reader long after the book is finished. Jin and Esme are characters I will not forget for a long time to come. Their story is full of laughter, frustration, love and adventure. The story line is engaging and enjoyable. This is a real page turner that I could not put down. I was waiting for the next witty remark. Jin is the perfect old fashioned British Genie and she has done a fabulous job of writing his personality.I had to laugh as he tried to understand modern slang. I love how the author has captured the frustration of Esme at trying to explain the modern day American slang to a old fashioned Genie. I can not wait to read the second part. The author has left me craving to know the end of the story. I wish I could give it more then 5 stars.

This was really cute, I think adults, teens and YA will find it very funny! Esme inherits a vase from her grandmother and now is the proud owner of a genie. It is pretty funny as Jin learns about new technology and new slang! ****spoiler I was tempted to give it a 5, but 1 thing really bothered me. When was the last time he was out? Since he belonged to her grandmother and she lived with her, I would have thought he would have been much more up to date. GL to Ms Havin!

What a wonderful story! After Esme's grandmother dies she is sent to live with her father who she hasn't Seen in years. Just when she thinks all is lost, she rubs her grandmothers vase and out pops A Victorian geni Named Jin. The adventures are fun and sometimes stressful but it turns out to be a really enjoyable ride. Looking  Forward to the next book in the series.
