i dont see whats the hype he only has two tracks thats decent of his album that is focus and pump it up.his name should be joe butt, cause that is what this album is ,straight butt, he got no rhymes and beats, its sad that poeple have to settle for this kind of material. where is the state of hiphop going, thats why the sells of rap are dropping there are no good albums out anymore.if you like hiphop i suggest u pick up the gangstarr album, finally somethin is dope in this hiphop crisis. -duke

Joe Budden’s self titled album has created a lot of noise in the hip-hop community. The hit single “Pump It Up”, the first off his album has received tremendous radio play and can be heard at virtually every club across the nation. The release, off of Def Jam Records, features the likes of Lil Mo’, 112, and Busta Rhymes. Joe’s label has called him “the future” and this is coming from a label that boasts such artists as hip-hop juggernaut Jay-Z, DMX, and Ja Rule. Fans recognize the talent he possesses and know that he has the potential to remain a force in hip-hop for years to come. All that remains to be seen if he can remain consistent and continue to rock the crowd like he did on this album.

Joe Budden really showed us that he is going to be in the rap game for a while and not just be a one hit wonder. He showcased his talent on a song rappin for ten minutes.

Joe Budden is superior to alot of artist when it comes to lyrical skills that's why this album is automatically a 4 star album songs like Focused get alot of street credibility. the 10 min. song also whent hard joe is really a different style of rapper who is much needed in the game and i feel his cd alot. It might have been lacking mabey one more commercial track to released to make it a more successful album. But all in all yeah it's tight.

In a time where average rappers sell millions because of excellent marketing scemes, Joe Budden is here to be the next in line. Productions on this album are thight. Boombastic hiphop with a sense of what the oldscool was about (a sense... hence the sample flashbacks...) The main concern is Joe Buddens's and his listen-how-i-can-take-it-easy-too flow. After a few tracks you even tend to start appreciating rappers like DMX for his energy... Def Jam decided layback will be the next big thing and you might be the one who's going to fall for that. Uhmm, I won't...
