Ivan Dunn's first case should be a slam dunk. All he has to do is find out what happened to a teenager who disappeared more than twenty years earlier. With a fat check in the bank, and more to come, the private detective heads to Richmond, Virginia, unaware that the answer lies nearly a continent away. Along the way, he is threatened, shot at, and stalked like an animal. Were it not for the beautiful raven-haired girl from the other side of the tracks, he might have given up. Could she hold the key? Or is it the brash, impertinent reporter? And who was it who really hired him, and why? The flawed Marine war hero turned investigator has his hands full figuring this one out - and you will too.

Engaging, easy to read. Stayed up to late to see what would happen next. Now that's a good book.
This was a great story as it kept me wondering the outcome from start to finish. It's a short read and well worth reading.
