Junk Voyage 2389 CE: A Malo Kemp Assignment by Andrew J Chamberlain

The Malo Kemp Assignments are a series of short stories, each of which can be read as a stand alone tale, but together they will tell the story of the eponymous hero.

Malo Kemp, space entrepreneur and security consultant, is a man torn between his desire to escape and his need for relationship. Hiring himself and his ship out to anyone who wants to get the job done, Malo's boast is that he will always deliver the goods. Whilst he tries not to look at what he's left behind him, Malo finds that it doesn't take much for the ghosts of his past to catch up with him.

In 'Junk Voyage' Malo is out celebrating the conclusion of a lucrative deal with his new friend the lawyer Dolores McTee. But even as his glass is raised, a call comes in that will present him with a challenge that leads to life and death, blood and money.

Malo reluctantly takes up the challenge, leaves Dolores behind and reaches out to the stars, to keep the promise that he will always deliver his cargo, whatever the consequences.
