Jupiter Roars

Some very peculiar things have been happening in the town of Boring, and thirteen-year-old whiz kid Juniper Smote is beginning to suspect that she may somehow be responsible.

Juniper is on a mission to make the world, or at least her tiny portion of it, a better, more interesting place. Her current wish list includes: a lot fewer guns, a family that's not completely around-the-bend crazy, larger vocabularies and generally less dumbness all around, and she'd also really like to be friends with Sandra Shuck, the closest thing her school has to an authentic bad girl.

Trouble is, Juniper is growing up in small town of mostly gun-crazed, low achievers. Her father, prone to bouts of erratic behavior, is becoming romantically involved with a mannequin he keeps in the garage. Her mostly senile grandfather is convinced that animals have started impersonating people, and even her Mom, pretty much the only reliable person she knows, has been acting strangely. Meanwhile, Sandra Shuck doesn't even know she exists.

It's a big challenge for a thirteen year old, even a really smart one, and it only gets more complicated when the strange sounds in her head start up. They come roaring in from who knows where, and as they roar their way out all kinds of mayhem tends to follow. Juniper is determined to figure out what these sounds are all about, maybe even learn to control them. Along they way, she uncovers her long lost grandmother's big secret, inadvertently turns the town into a popular tourist attraction, mobilizes a group of mannequins to help save her father's job, and even gets Sandra to start liking her.

Jupiter Roars, a quirky, coming of age comedy, is the story of an exceptional young girl intent on finding a way to not only survive, but actually thrive, in an all too ordinary world.
