About the Author

James O Rudd was born in Old Hickory (nickname of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States), Tennessee in March of 1944. Jim attended Andrew Jackson grade school, DuPont High School, Middle Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University and finally graduated from the University of Tennessee.
Jim spent most of his adult life working in various industries in many capacities i.e.: SR Industrial Engineer, Engineering Manager, Plant Manager, Consultant and Manufacturing Engineer.
Jim is a veteran of the Viet Nam war era where, as a sole surviving son, he spent two years in Germany. Jim and his wife Kathy, as of the date of this writing, have four children, twelve grandchildren and thus far two great grandchildren.
Jim has been very active in his church, i.e. teaching various classes in Sunday school for over forty years, was a minister of music for over ten years, member of the board, youth director and has served on many advisory councils.
Jim has been fortunate in witnessing and winning most of his grandchildren, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, fellow workers and friends to the Lord. After all, this is our real purpose in life.
Jim’s hobbies have been music, having sung in three different southern gospel quartets, wood working, collecting various items (match book covers, coins, stamps, knives, ball caps, jackets, small calculators, Southern Gospel CD’s, anything dealing with photography, National Geographic Magazines, and reading and collecting all nineteen books that Harold Bell Wright wrote, etc.) and photography miscellany.
Jim took various courses in photography and became a professional photographer. Jim has set-up his own portable photography studio and this has become his latest passion. Jim specializes in portraits (groups or individuals), landscapes, old barns, churches, old houses, rail cars, old cars, wildlife, sun rises, sun sets, pets, really old people’s faces, photo painting and time exposures.
Jim also loves to train animals, i.e. dogs and even one of his pet cats. As a child he trained a calf to be his replacement pony, he trained pigeons, coon hounds, salt water fish (to roll over on their back and let you rub their belly (even a Lion Fish)), pet bird, etc.
