As with all of Chris Van Allsburg's books this one is beautifully illustrated. It has a clear environmental message that does not overwhelm the rest of the book.

I have read this book to my classsroom students for many years around Earth Day. For my grandson's birthday, I gave him the book to read and a tree to plant. He loved the book and tree. He was helping to replace the tree it took to make this book. The author is excellent and the illustrations are very creative. I would recomment this book to teachers and parents alike.

I read this story in elementary and a go decade ago, I still remember the joy and magic that I felt reading this story. The illustrations are excellent, full of iridescent colors that excite your imagination. I would recommend this book!
