Just an Illusion - Side A by D. Kelly, Regina Wamba

One night changed her life...
Bestselling author Amelia Greyson has grown up in the music industry and isn't the slightest bit fazed by fame or celebrities. However, when she attends a Bastards and Dangerous concert with her best friend Belle, her world shifts on its axis.
Double trouble...
Sawyer and Noah Weston are the front men of BAD. They're fraternal twins and sexy as sin. When they hear the author of The O Factor is in their green room, they're intrigued. She's just the person they need to write their farewell story. The brothers offer Amelia the opportunity of a lifetime, which she reluctantly accepts.
Three hearts...
Noah is sweet and considerate, working hard to make Amelia feel at home on the road. Unfortunately, the closer they get, the more obnoxious Sawyer becomes. Sawyer is arrogant and distant and he wants Amelia, even though she's not his for the taking. Only during stolen moments does Sawyer show her who he really is.
Can Amelia maintain a safe distance from Sawyer and keep her heart intact? Or will she shatter Noah's heart by giving hers to his brother instead?
Just an Illusion – Side A is the first book in The Illusion Series

About the Author

I'm a wife, a mom and a dog lover. I'm also a taxi, problem fixer, extreme multi-tasker and my kids’ biggest fan in anything that they do. I’m married to my high school sweetheart... how cool is that? Margaritas and sarcasm make me happy. Chocolate makes that happiness grow exponentially. People who make me laugh are my favorite kind of people. I believe Karma is real and mean people suck. I'm California born and raised, I love the beach but hate the sand. And of course I believe Starbucks makes any day better. I’m a Contemporary Romance author and Just an Illusion ~ Side A is the eighth book I’ve released. This is the first book I have read by Dee Kelly and I'm asking myself why. If you love rockers this is a must read. What a way to start a new series. This book has everything a good rockstar story should have, drama, secrets, scandal and love but there is something about this book that turns it from a good read to a great read maybe it's the strong characters maybe it's the authors writing style or maybe it's just a fantastic story line. I loved every member of BAD and I really hope they all get their own books because everyone of them is different and their stories need to be told. This book is written in the past and the present but I still wasn't prepared for the cliffhanger and I really need book 2 now. Brilliant start to a new series and a brilliant new author for me

Favorite Quotes: Being kissed by Sawyer made me believe in the devil. There’s no way someone can make me feel that good and turn me on that fast without being completely damning to my soul. I’ve never felt like that before, and I’m sure I’ll never feel it again. No doesn’t just mean no when a woman says it to a man. It also means no when a man says it to a woman. You’d do yourself a favor to remember that. You’re worried about losing me, but I’m worried about losing you. When you’re not around, I struggle to breathe. …love is infinite. It is the one constant thing that makes the world a better place. You come in with it and you hopefully die with it. There’s no limit on love, not on the amount you can give, the amount you can receive, and surely never on how fast you can feel it. My Review: Shortly after I began reading Side A, I knew with startling certainty that this series was going to turn me inside out. This was my first foray into D. Kelly’s work and I found her writing to be sharp and finely honed on all emotional levels, lushly descriptive, and masterfully woven into an intriguing, intricately detailed, and carefully erected tale that kept me entertained, engrossed, and deeply entrenched. Despite ending on a vile cliffhanger, I’m am eager to re-immerse myself back into the characters’ story as I already have the next two books (The B Side, and EP) within my grasp. Otherwise, I would most likely be stamping my little foot, spewing invectives, and having a major Veruca Salt meltdown. The timeline flows back and forth as Amelia, the narrator, delves through her memories and relives events from two years prior when her life radically changed upon meeting and start her work with a successful rock band. The storyline was well-balanced and full of feels that alternated between emotive, amusing, sensual, and highly intriguing scenarios. I was captivated and fascinated by the entire ensemble of characters, and although I am anxious to unravel all the mysteries and absorb the rest of the tale, I strongly suspect I am going to enjoy the journey just as much as the satisfaction of knowing the outcome.

Between the blurb and then the first few chapters I swore that I had the plot figured out…but BOY! Was I wrong. I was very surprised to discover that this was not your typical rocker book. Even though I know nothing about the second book, as of now it is not the usual triangle either. Noah and Amelia have such a beautiful relationship and I’m glad to have found a female character that I can cheer for. Not only am I invested in Noah & Mel’s storyline but I’m also invested in all of the band members, their women and their families. I am very much looking forward to the rest of this series.

There's something special about D. Kelly writing that captures your attention until the end and keeps you yearning for more! She writes these amazing love triangles that makes you wonder between right and wrong. This story is fantastic! It's a rock star romance, but it's not about groupies, sex, drugs, etc. This story is about a rock band, their personal lives, problems, family and dreams... so it's safe to say that after reading a book like this you are enthralled by their story! At first I thought this could be some kind of menage book *wink* *wink*, then I realized it couldn't be, but then something kept me wondering. Now I really don't know where this story can go at all! And I love that! One thing is for sure, the characters are something else! Noah is the sweetest thing, Sawyer is a troubled man and they are twins. Amelia is a bestselling author that goes in tour with BAD, a band that she's not a fan at all, but this is one professional opportunity she can't refuse and something that might trigger bad memories from her past that she finally was able to overcome. She's incredibly attracted to them, and she wants to keep her professionalism above everything, but Noah can be very persuasive... This book has the most swooning scenes, romance, drama, tragedy and danger. Some people hate cliffhangers, but I love the anticipation of what will happen next and that makes me crave it even more! *Read and reviewed for The Bookery Review*

I had gotten over rock star romances, moved on to other subjects but gotten bored with those too so I decided to give this one a chance when I was offered an ARC for my blog. HOLY HOTNESS, am I glad that I did!!!This book is about the grittier, real side of the rock star romance rather than the money, fame and sex side where everything is unicorns and rainbows. It's more about the real life behind the scenes side of this band. I only had one complaint. This book has a MAJOR cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I was devastated because it leaves the ending of Side A/Book 1 at the most critical moment in the book. Heart attack central!!! Amelia is an author who gets dragged kicking and screaming back in to the rock star world when she is offered a chance to write a book about BAD on their farewell tour. She has run-ins with two of the band members who are twins at separate times and has to decide which one she will choose in the end. I really was intrigued by the attraction that she had to the brothers because it's a different attraction to each, one is smooth and steady while the other is the crash and burn type of attraction. It's like they are flip sides of the same coin. I was hoping that there would be a threesome involved so she could have both but I still don't know which one she chooses because CLIFFHANGER! LOL I cannot wait for the next installment of this book. This author is new to me but she does have another series that I will be testing out to see if it can best all the the feels that I got from this book. ARC provided for review.

This is a great story! I really loved it. And the characters? Damn... I liked all of them. Specially, Noah. But I've always hated cliffhangers and this have a huge one. Now I want to know what happened next. I can't wait for the next book! *I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

Just An Illusion by D. Kelly I have no idea where to start. So let's say everyone should plan to get this book, cause boy oh boy it leaves looking off in space wondering what now. I love this book. It pulled me in right away and left mearly needing to know, what was going on. Even in the end when I wanted I wanted to scream bloody murder lol. Amelia is a best selling author, hiding from her past. Noah is a Rock star in a band with his twin brother Sawyer and Darren and Wyatt. They all think she will be perfect to tell their story. ***REVIEWED ON BEHALF OF WITHIN THE PAGES BOOK BLOG****

I volunteered to read a copy of this book. I did not receive any form of payment and this is my thoughts and only my thoughts on this story. This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. I look forward to reading many more. I was sucked in to this story from the beginning and when I was not happy when it ended. I wanted more! I needed more. Amelia Graysen goes to a concert with her best friend who loves the band B.A.D and is a journalist who is there to get an exclusive story from the band. Amelia isn't a fan of them but she goes because Belle asks her to go. Amelia is torn between Noah an Sawyer Weston the brothers in the band. This Rocker Story has it all! I loved how the author wrote this story. I think everyone who loves a good rocker story should one click this book because its worth it. This has one hell of a cliffhanger and I need the next book like last night after I finished reading this one. I personally wish Amelia picked the other brother. I look forward to Just an Illusion Side B early next year

Just an Illusion-Side A by D. Kelly.....OMG!! This book hit my #1 spot on my best books of 2016, so far. I am still trying to catch my breath after reading this fantastic book, it will hit all your emotion buttons and the ENDING, oh my. I loved all the characters they were so well written, believable and likeable. Amelia is a beautiful author that goes on tour with the rock band BAD to write a behind the scenes book. Sexy as sin twins Noah, is the sweet one and Sawyer is the bad boy. Both brothers are interested in Amelia and that is never a good thing. I highly recommend this book and if you are looking for a new book boyfriend, D. Kelly gives us a few to pick from. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

I'm pretty sure this book is going to make a therapist very rich! Between the smart and sassy chicks and the smoking hot rock stars of the BAD crew, I'm in complete book hangover mode. I'm not sure I can function normally until I know how the story ends. Noah and Mel are destine for great things and deserve nothing more, but drama seems to rule the roost. Sawyer, Wyatt, Darren, Bell and Anna all have there work cut out for them and want nothing more than to have a normal life outside the rockstar world. Can these two worlds co-exist? Can love concur all? There are so many turns in this book I never knew what was going to happen next, and true to her world the queen of cliffhangers did it again and boy did she do it.

Wow. This book was so good that I'm not sure I can even accurately express how I'm feeling right now. It had everything - love, sadness, drama, hope, tragedy, humor, mystery, swoons, and of course, steam. I was sucked right into the story from the start and only put this book down when I absolutely had to. Even still, I burned through it and am now experiencing a serious book hangover. The story revolves around incredibly sweet and all around good guy Noah, his brooding and mysterious bad boy brother, Sawyer, and Amelia (Mel), the woman both brothers want as their own. Some readers may have issues with love triangles, but this one for me, really worked. I liked that all 3 main characters aren't perfect and have their own demons and baggage to deal with. Noah probably came the closest to saint hood with all his swoony moments and philanthropic heart, but it didn't feel contrived and only made him more adorable. I hurt for Sawyer and everything in his past that's tormenting him, and savored the gentle and vulnerable moments where he showed his true self. I felt just as torn and confused as Mel, sorting through the emotions and wrestling with the pain and fear of ever driving these 2 brothers apart. I can't say for certain who I'm shipping at this point, since I think both guys have qualities and traits that I think Mel needs. If I really had to choose though after only reading this book, then I would say Team Noah. :) I found the secondary characters in this book just as fun and amazing. Belle was a little too bubbly at times, but it's what makes her friendship with Mel work. They balance each other and they both stand by and support each other above all else. Throw hilarious Anna into the mix and that's definitely squad goals. I loved the entire Weston family (especially little Saylor) and of course, the other members of BAD, Wyatt and Darren. Everyone genuinely cares for each other and I loved how absolutely normal the family was despite the fame and success of the boys. There were perfect moments of comic relief (oh, Rhymin' Rieanne I could have read a whole chapter about you!) and just enough drama and angst to keep the reader guessing. This is the first book I have read from D. Kelly, but I thought her writing was perfect. She wrote some seriously swoony moments and the song Just an Illusion had my heart breaking. The snippets from the present, weaving together with the past, left me wanting more and hello, that ending (even though I knew it was coming) just killed me in the best way. This book was just what I was looking for and I cannot wait for the next book! Is it 2017 yet?! *Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing this ARC free of charge*
