I loved this book! It was insightful and educational and still kept me reading. There wasn't alot of boredom with discussing medical equipment. It was story-telling at its best. If you like hearing someone else's stories this book will keep you enthralled. I loved it.

In ¿Just here trying to save a few lives¿ Dr. Pamela Grim paints us a vivid picture of life in the ER. As an EMT student I found the book captivating and informative. The book started a little slow but quickly picked up the pace. As we travel with Dr. Grim from hospital to hospital and from country to country we see the struggles and trials that doctors face every day. There was a lot of medical language that, had I not been an EMT student I would have not understood. Overall this was a very good book and I would recommend it to any one interested in going in to the medical filed or to anyone who is just curious of what doctors face every day in their profession.

Ever since I can remember I¿ve always wanted to be a doctor. So this book, Just Here Trying to Save a Few Lives, by Pamela Grim, MD was a great pick for me. The whole book talks about day-to-day happenings in the ER. Pam does a wonderful job of being very descriptive and to the point. When Pam is explaining situations it¿s like your right there and she is actually talking to you. I was right on the edge of my seat, always wanting to know what¿s next. You can forget about putting the book down, because you definately won¿t want to. There was also a lot of emotion in, Just Here Trying to Save a Few Lives. There are moments when you think your going to cry and even times that you will. Then there are times that you just want to jump through the book and put your helping hands to use. Once you read this magnificent book you¿ll better understand that being in the medical profession isn¿t nothing compared to the TV shows. These are real people, real situations, and an all around great reading experience. I recommend this book to everyone, especially those who are or want to be in the health care profession. I promise reading this book is totally worth it.

Dr. Grim has a way with words. I couldn't put this book down! She takes you with her as she experiences life and death in the ER and other locations. She will explain symptoms and you are there, with her, in her head trying to diagnose the patient. It becomes suspenseful with each and every situation. You find yourself breathing a sigh of relief as she determines treatment and pulls the patient through.
