Overview

Just In Case by M.E. Randolph

The only person Case Chandler has in her life is her best friend Penny. He's the only friend or family that truly loves her for her. But then she meets the smooth talking, chocolate delight, Sims Stanley and instantly that all changes. He's the man of her dreams...at least he is until he gets married on her. Devastated, Case starts to reevaluate her life, hoping to discover why the people that she loves never seem to love her the way that she deserves to be loved. Her estranged family...Sims. Then in walks sweet and sexy Becton Randolph, a man that desperately wants to love her. The only problem is that she can't seem to let go of Sims. Even though he is married she's desolate to hold on to him just in case he's the closest she'll ever get to love.

Penny Holister lives for three things; his best friend Case, his hair salon Styles 'N Stuff, and men. One man in particular...Shelby. Their tumultuous relationship has always been kept a secret, but Penny has always had faith that Shelby would eventually step out of the closet and profess his undying love. Only that doesn't happen. Once Penny finds out what his lover has really been up to he sets a plan in motion that's guaranteed to change lives forever and get him the revenge he deserves.

I'm ready for part two ! I want to know more about Case and Beckton. M.E. Randolph, you outdid yourself. My girlfriend told me how wonderful this book was and so I had to read it for myself. It kept my attention on every page. Don't we all need a Penny in our lives? I could actually feel the characters.........I was sad, I laughed, and I laughed some more. It's great to read a book that African American women can relate to. Great work M.E. Randolph !!

This book was wonderful. I read it out loud during a road trip home for Thanksgiving. It was absolutely breath taking. I could not put the book down. The characters were well developed, the plot was interesting, and there were sad moments and drop dead funny moments. I would love to see this book on the screen. I loved it.

This story deals with an abundance of issues that plague black women in America today; low self esteem, black men looking for relationships with other than black women, Black men looking for relationships with men, the ghetto and slave like mentality that alot of us blacks have ingrained in us.This book reminded alot me of myself and quite a few people that I and you know.I simply fell in love and dislike with the characters. I recommend this book for any of my sisters that are in a relationship in which they are the only ones giving.

I have to give it up to who ever he or she is, because M.E. Randolph layed it down with ' Just in Case'. The book was introduced into an online reading club that I am a member of and I have to admit that this book is truly one that soaks you into the life and thoughts of it's main character Case.In all honesty the book caught my attention from it's catchy chapter titles and from that point on I couldn't put the book down. It was an EXCELLENT read. All hail to the new Terry McMillan!
