Just One Wish by Janette Rallison

Seventeen-year-old Annika Truman knows about the power of positive thinking. With a little brother who has cancer, it's all she ever hears about. And in order to help Jeremy, she will go to the ends of the earth (or at least as far as Hollywood) to help him believe he can survive his upcoming surgery.

But Annika's plan to convince Jeremy that a magic genie will grant him any wish throws her a curveball when he unexpectedly wishes that his television idol would visit him. Annika suddenly fi nds herself in the desperate predicament of getting access to a hunky star actor and convincing him to come home with her. Piece of cake, right?

Janette Rallison's proven talent for laugh-out-loud humor, teen romance, and deep-hearted storytelling shines in a novel that will have readers laughing and crying at the same time.

I felt that this book was well written, had a good story, and moved fast. But personally I felt it wasn't a five because I just wasn't that into the book. Though you should still try it because it is a good book even though it didn't fit me.

This book was surprising. I thought it was going to be not that great and just an easy read, but it explores universal ideas such as cancer and really is a good book which personally with the topic covered could not be written in any other way. It ended in the way it should and realistically too.

When I grabbed this book. It was last minute. I had seen the cover from time to time as I was looking around, but at the last minute I picked up this book as a light read. I had finished in two days. It was great! The tale of the best big sister helping her brother who has a brain tomber, while falling in love with a movie star can be an over whelming book topic but this book was great! I would recommend it to kids from ages 10-18. It's a great read!

This book was very fast paced and easy to read. I read it in only two days. I’ve read a few books by Janette Rallison before but this is by far my favorite! I was in love with the idea from the beginning-it seemed like such a cute, fun story. It starts right in with the action and the problem, leaving no time for unnecessary fluff. Jeremy seems like such a cute little brother and I’m sad for what he has to go through in the story, but it makes the plot deeper and more purposeful. Annika [don't you just love the name?] is a strong leading lady who knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it. She’s good as reading people’s emotions, and her creativity levels are sky high. I was laughing just trying to figure out what she’d come up with next. Steve wasn’t your normal celebrity that you usually encounter in novels. His interactions with Annika were original enough so that I didn’t feel as if I’d read it before. The ending-I love the ending. Not that I want to give it away. This book is definitely one of the best I’ve read lately. Short, sweet, and just fun to read. I give it 5/5 stars all the way.

The book was a 2 thumbs up hit. Getting to all that trouble to just make her brother's wish come true is just the ultimate a sister can do. This book will show you what true sibilings are willing to do to make each other happy. Especially Anika, who takes you to her all-the-way-funny journey to a whole different world from the one she lives in, just to do the right thing for her brother. I cannot think of any other funny-kidness book like this one.

Just One Wish is a really cute, heartfelt story of a 's love for her little brother. The plot makes you smile, the romance leaves you with a tingling sensation in you heart and Annika's determination to put a little more sunshine in the world is memorable! If you want a book that will leave you feeling warm and that is fast paced, funny, and romantic well here it is! A GREAT READ!

Well-established young adult author Janette Rallison hits new highs with JUST ONE WISH, which focuses on a 17 year-old's desperate struggle to do what she can to help her 6 year-old brother in his battle with cancer. Alternately poignant and amusing, the storyline offers many surprises, as well as enjoyable moments as 17 year-old Annika starts an unlikely relationship with a popular TV teen idol. I highly recommend it.

I read this in less than a day. I couldn't put it down. This is probably the first laugh out loud book about cancer that I've ever read. It was sweet, funny and sad (but never too sad). I've read a number of Janette Rallison's books and this was definately the best. Just One Wish is highly recommended.

With an uncanny ability for reading other people and the force of a charming personality, seventeen-year-old Annika Truman is used to getting her way.

Heading out to the day-after-Thanksgiving sales, Annika wants nothing more than to return home with a Talking Teen Robin Hood for her cancer-stricken little brother, Jeremy. But the six-year-old throws her a curveball when he reveals that his heart's desire is for the "real" Teen Robin Hood, from the shows they watch on television, to pay him a visit.

Determined to give her little brother his wish, Annika hits the Internet looking for a way to contact the show's nineteen-year-old star, Steve Raleigh.

When the traditional methods fail, Annika drives from Nevada to Burbank, California, where The Adventures of Teen Robin Hood is filmed. With her best friend, Madison, in tow, the girls hatch a plan they hope will convince the young star to help Annika grant Jeremy's wish.

The idea of two young girls successfully sneaking onto a high-profile studio lot requires serious reader suspension of belief, no doubt. Through the strength of Annika's characterization and the loving relationship she shares with Jeremy, though, Ms. Rallison gives the reader a chance to abandon the cynicism of reality in favor of a world where wishes really can come true.

This has got to be one of my favourite books ever. I have this book in an actaul book not an ebook and I have had it a bunch. But any way this book is more for tweens, preteens(like myself), and teenager probably up to 17. This book is well written and very sweet. It made me cry a bunch at the end. I really, really reccomend this book. And the great thing is, is that its not a series so you don't have to spend a lot of money.

You really can't help loving this book, with a tough heroine that loves her little brother more than life. I really felt like this book had amazing potential. It was too short and even though I really wanted to love the characters, I just couldn't really connect with them. But all in all still a good book. It is sad though and the ending made me feel like the book shouldn't be over
