Justice for Boone by Susan Stoker

Sheriff's Deputy Hayden Yates has worked hard to gain the respect and admiration of her fellow law enforcement officers. She's succeeded so well, in fact, that she's become just one of the guys. As her friends slowly begin to meet their soul mates, Hayden longs to be seen as a desirable woman, and not the tomboy she's always been.

No slouch when it comes to attracting the opposite sex, cowboy Boone Hatcher might want to give it a rest for a while, especially after his last girlfriend accuses him of domestic abuse. Deputy Yates sees right through his ex's ruse--and Boone sees right through Deputy Yates. Hayden might seem all business, but her need for justice comes from a heart that beats with pure passion.

A few dates turn into something more, and as the couple's relationship deepens, so do the threats from his ex. It's up to Hayden to convince Boone the danger is real...before jealous antics escalate to deadly obsession.

** Justice for Boone is the 6th book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Boone and Hayden's love storyline was great. The Dana character really made you want to really hope someone punch her. I do not condone any kind of abuse of women but she was too real. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. mjw

We hear all the time about abusive relationships. Most of the time sadly it's the woman on the receiving end of the abuse. There are also many different types of abuse, this story talks about more then just the physical type. This author is a wonderful story teller and isn't afraid to tell it like it is. I can't tell you how many times I cheered for both Hayden and Boone or gasped in shock at something that happened or laughed hysterically at something going on in the story. This is a great book cover to cover!!!

For those that know me Contemporary Romance is not my top pick in genres to read, but I do pick them up every now and then. I have to say this is my favorite from Ms. Stoker that I’ve read so far. Hayden is a Deputy Sheriff. Tuff, strong, and an independent women who is more like one of the guys then a women, but she still is feminine. Boone is a cowboy, takes great care of his ranch, those that work for him, and has a strong moral code of not hitting a women for any reason. Hayden and Boone were an interesting couple to fall in love with. Hayden meets Boone when she’s called out to his place for domestic violence, but he’s the victim although it takes her showing up to show the others that that is the case. Yes, men can be abused too. The domestic violence and a female police offer just added to the story. There was a balance; between their pasts, what they do now, and what is happening around them. Hayden showed her femininity and Boone his masculinity. Their roles didn’t define them anymore then their gender. I liked this. Liked the role-reversal. Liked the story. Liked how everything played together and made this couple one of my favorites to enjoy. It was sweet and adorable. Note: Can be read as a stand alone. Books in this series do not have to be read in order. Rated: 4 Stars *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Susan Stoker via RockStarLit with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.

I loved how the author portrayed Boone in this book as being a victim of domestic abuse, yet still retained his alpha, tough guy person. His only fault was he refused to hit a woman under any circumstance! I agree with Hay in the book, sometimes a woman needs to be cold-cocked! There are those kinds of people out there! The way Boone was written, he was attracted to Hay from the start and willing to do what it took to keep her safe, even though she was the one who carried the gun! Hayden was great as a tough sheriff's deputy while still have a feminine side that Boone was able to see, even though others missed it! The tease at the end with Crash...sigh!

I don't know how Susan Stoker keeps these amazing books coming, but she does. After each one I say "That's my favorite!" Well, this has to be my favorite so far! Her plots always have substance and suck you in. I didn't want to put the book down AT ALL! Sleep? Ha! Not when a new SS book comes out! JFB is all about Hayden and Boone. I was so happy to see that the hero was a mature male dealing with a serious issue that many people don't think about...male domestic violence. Susan wrote the story eloquently and showed this type of abuse from a different angle. Hayden is the officer who comes to Boone's home since his ex-girlfriend is PSYCHO!!! Like totally cukoo! Poor Boone! What that poor man went through and stuck to his convictions made me root for him even more!! The heroine, Hayden, is a total kicka$$. She's a Deputy and doesn't take crap from anyone. She is considered one of the boys and not until you get a bit into the story do you really get what that means. Her story, which is interwoven into Boone's, is just as heartbreaking. I was so happy that Hayden found Boone and Boone found Hayden. The story was not just all lovey dovey, but had substance. You will not regret reading this book and hey, if you love it as much as I do, she had a ton of other AMAZING books for you to read!

Another hit for Susan Stoker! Tackling the issue of domestic violence and with these specific circumstances was done brilliantly. Boone couldn't be more of a manly man and Hayden may be small but she's definitely mighty. They sure make a beautiful pair. These two were burnin' up the pages in this well written story line with all these amazingly well developed characters. BRAVO! I can't wait to see what's next for this fabulous author. Received a copy via RockStarLit in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed is my own.

Justice For Boone is such a great book!! I was sucked into the story like I always am with Susan Stoker stories!! For me. a well written book turns into a movie in my brain as I read it. This is what happened with this book! It is a page turner! I couldn't put it down!! Hayden is a tough as nails, tomboy, sheriffs deputy. She is sent out on a call and meets a gorgeous guy. Only Hayden is able to see what really went on with this call, and truth and justice prevails! Unfortunately, the person who made the false police report is non other than Boones ex-girlfriend. Things get worse and worse, until there is the super showdown. Who wins? Who dies? Who gets the smack down?? You really have to read this book to find out. This book is another hit by Susan Stoker, and she hit it out of the park!! You can't go wrong with this book!!

Justice for Boone is the 6th book in Susan Stoker’s Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes series. In this installment Sheriff’s Deputy Hayden finally meets her match in a sexy and strong cattle rancher named Boone. Deputy Sheriff Hayden Yates is a fierce police officer who is highly regarded in her field. She is strong, smart and sexy but lacks self confidence when it comes to her personal life. She has watched as her friends have begun falling in love and finding their soul mates. She can’t help but wonder if she will ever find a man that sees and accepts her as the woman she is not just “one of the guys”. She wants a strong man who can not only handle her and her job but makes her feel like a woman, she just didn’t expect to find him while working a case of domestic violence. Boone is a true Alpha male character. Mature, ruggedly handsome, strong but with a soft side for those he cares for. He was raised to appreciate and protect women so when his ex-girlfriend shows up uninvited to his house and claims he hit her after he refuses to get back together he is sure he is going to spend the night in jail. His luck and his life takes a turn in the right direction when the beautiful, strong and smart Sheriff’s Deputy shows up. She takes the time to investigate the allegations by his crazy ex and sees that she is pissed and trying to frame him. There is clearly an attraction on both of their parts from the get go. When more trouble from Boone’s crazy ex lands these two together again Boone takes the chance and asks the sexy Deputy out. Both of these characters have a back story that has brought them to where they are today. I will have to say that Hayden’s caught me by surprise but it also helped me understand the confused woman. I loved how patient and caring Boone was and the author did an excellent job showing a mature man can be just as sexy and hot as any of his young counterpoints. I am obsessed with this author. I love all her hero series and love how she has interwoven characters into each series. This book is a standalone but I do prefer to read the books in order since you do have characters from previous installments showing up in each book. I would highly recommend this book; you will not regret getting started on this series! I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

I loved how different this story was from the typical Alpha reduces heroine romance yet the man was still an "Alpha" presence while allowing the heroine to really shine and have the protector roll. Susan Stoker did a phenomenal job on portraying both characters in the best light possible and still kept it steamy. It is for sure a re-read for me and I can't wait for her next book!

Wow! I really enjoyed this book. Ms Stoker has an excellent writing style. I love her characters - their strengths and their weaknesses, the situations they get into, the sexy-times, and that she brings in characters from her other books. This book features Hayden, a kick-butt sheriff's deputy, and Boone, a cowboy/farmer who's gotten into a situation he needs help getting out of...even if he thinks things will be fine. These two are so good together. I loved them....and I think you will too. Pick up a copy for yourself....you won't be disappointed. Advanced copy received in exchange for an honest review

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Deputy Sheriff Hayden Yates is called out on a domestic disturbance. When she arrives to the scene, she is drawn to the sexy cowboy, who is the prime suspect. His eyes call to her and implore her to dig deeper to find the truth. Although the other two officers on the scene believe Boone is guilty, they trust Hayden as one of the guys, to find the truth. Hayden determines Boone's ex has lied and purposely injured herself to make it look like Boone hurt her. She's arrested and that sets her off on a path of vengeance. Boone is drawn to Hayden and vows to get to know her better. While Boone finds Hayden extremely sexy and beautiful, others don't see her as he does. Her parents, who always wanted a son, always discouraged her from being feminine. Hayden's own coworkers and friends treat her as "one of the guys". Hayden wants to be more than "one of the boys" and wants to find her HEA. She wants to feel safe and be loved unconditionally--by more than her Ellie. Boone and Hayden's happiness is challenged by his crazy, possessive ex. Can they survive all the obstacles she throws their way? I absolutely loved this novel! Susan Stoker's novels are suspenseful, well-written, witty, and end with a HEA. Each novel is so different, but has Sexy, Aplha men that are swoon worthy!!! I highly recommend this novel to all those women who doubt themselves and wish for their own HEA. Loved it!

Justice for Boone by Susan Stoker....I don't know how Susan does it, but each book I read just keeps getting better. She is such an amazing storyteller and connects the readers to the characters and you feel all their emotions. This book is awesome, it is a role reversal, the Deputy is a beautiful woman names Hayden and Boone is a hot Cowboy which is the victim/accused. These two have so much chemistry the pages are burning up. Susan Stoker is one of my favorite authors of all times. I was given a complimentary book by publisher for an honest review.

Only women can be in an abusive relationship...well, that's what rancher Boone believes. He's tall, strong, a rancher used to hard work, and has strong morals. He's not a victim of domestic abuse...except he is. His ex-girlfriend, Dana, who refuses to accept the "ex" part, decides to show up at his house and create a scene. Yes, I said create. Thankfully, Sheriff's Deputy Hayden doesn't accept the situation as is, which would be that Boone is the abuser. She investigates, asking questions of both Boone and Dana, questions that seemingly don't make sense to what Boone is accused of, but she knows what she's doing and proves that with her observations of the situation, which results in Dana being the one arrested. While Hayden and Boone both register the attractiveness of, and the attraction to, the other, they assume this is the beginning and end of their acquaintance. Hayden warns Boone that Dana isn't finished and he disagrees. Unfortunately, Hayden is right. After another incident to which Hayden is called out for, she talks Boone into filing a restraining order. Boone, while at the station to get the police reports necessary for the paperwork, asks Hayden out and she accepts. It isn't long before both Boone and Hayden realize they have something special growing between them, something neither have ever experienced and they want to explore where it can go. Unfortunately, someone else does not want that to happen. Can Hayden convince Boone that his usual morals don't always apply, that there are extenuating circumstances at times and he needs to stand up for himself? Can Boone, who has witnessed someone he knows be abused, realize that he too is a victim of it and that he needs to stand his ground and stop treating this as a nuisance instead of the potentially dangerous situation it is? Will he change his opinion when Hayden is targeted? Will Hayden be okay? Will Boone and Hayden ever get Dana out of their lives? Will they get a chance at their HEA or will Dana get her wish and come between them? One-click now to find out all these answers and more as we learn that sometimes the situation is reversed and regardless of how strong a man is, he too can be abused. Follow along as Hayden gets a chance at a forever love with someone that sees the true her, the one that's she's kept hidden her whole life in order to fit in. Please keep in mind that this is part of a series and while each book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the books in order. **I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Also, as is always the case with this author, I pre-ordered this book due to the fact that I love her work. She is one of my favorites.**
