A member of the famed Texas Rangers, Daxton Chambers has dealt with more than his share of depravity. But the Lones Star Reaper takes evil to a whole new level, kidnapping and burying women alive. It's Dax's job to help keep San Antonio safe, but even with help from friends in various law enforcement agencies, the killer remains two steps ahead. It's hardly the ideal time for a relationship, but Mackenzie Morgan is too luscious to resist. Dax wants her--which makes her an instant target for his newfound enemy.

When the Reaper gets personal, it will take every ounce of Daxton's considerable skill and training to keep Mack alive.

**Justice for Mackenzie is the 1st book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

I did not know exactly what to expect when I started to read this book. It was a freebie, and sometimes those are the ones you just say meh and then delete them from your nook. This one will not be deleted. What a nail biter! The fact that the characters were all older, not "new adults," was refreshing. Everyone had serious jobs, no one was an angsty billionaire, and the focus was more on the plotline with just enough sex to make you fan yourself. The editing was very good, which is a huge plus to this picky reader. The situations were believable and the dialogue was spot on. My only disappointment was not getting to actually meet the crazy family Mack is always referring to. Maybe they will show up in subsequent books. All in all, I highly recommend this book. Good job Ms. Stoker! Diane in JAX

I didn't make it very far into this book. The writing is very stilted and the characters come across as extremely immature. It lost me when the main characters who are portrayed in their mid to late 30s act like characters from a badly written high school romance. Nice idea, poor execution.

Mach and Daxton are great together. Two grown up who are falling in love. Now add one pychotic serial killer fixated on Daxton. Get the tissue box out before reading you'll need it.

I had read all off the Navy SEAL protection series in the last few days. I loved all of them. This is the first in the Justice series and so far it has not disappointed. mjw

How to describe this book...AWESOME! Be warned, you will need tissues at some point. Mackenzie is just cuddly and lovable and I love the fact that she's not perfect in any way! Daxton is down to earth and a confirmed bachelor. The two meet by accident and he can't get her off his mind. Sadly, he doesn't get her contact information when fate gives him a 2nd chance. Watching them together getting to know each other and falling in love was fun, then one of Daxton's cases becomes involved. The laughter and the tears of this book are totally refreshing! Can't wait for Cruz's encounter!

I thought this was a great book and well written. It made me laugh out loud and made me cry when Dax was trying to be strong for Mack as he and his friends were searching for her. This is not a cliffhanger!! I cant wait to read the next book

I haven't even completed the book. I have read many of her books and they are awesome. This one was not well written and a lot of repeats. Like she was just trying to fill the pages.

I had never read this author before but I will now! I expected the standard romance of law man meets damsel in destress. I did not expect can't put it down, whooha clenching (Yes I said it), half a box of Kleenex needed, roller coster I just stepped off of! Well written is an understatement, THIS was a great read!

Didn't enjoy this as much as her Protecting Series. Characters seemed a bit unbelievable and the relationship was underdeveloped.

Not for the faint of heart. This was some real live cray-cray stuff. But I love the main characters and how they interacted. Awesome story.

I loved this cute, funny suspenseful book. 153 pages. I gave it 4 stars because it & Protecting Caroline is so similar, almost likejust a change of name, good guys & bad guys. I knew she would be captive from the first page. I loved Mack & Dax & all the rest. Wished someone had kidnapped Nancy. GJRA
