About the Author

This is Karen's second book. She is an award-winning journalist and photographer. She worked as a features and entertainment reporter for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle for 12 years. Her daughter was a preemie and now is five. Karen supports the March of Dimes. Her audio interviews are in the Karen Cotton collection at the American Heritage Center at the University of Wyoming. She's a musician, dancer, artist, and songwriter. She's received three grants fromt the Wyoming Arts Council and one for the publication of this book. She also is a National Endowment for the Arts Fellow.

Greg Flores, the graphic designer and illustrator who designed this book, is also a former deputy sheriff with the Broward County Sheriff's Office in south Florida. He specializes in pet and animal drawings and his work can be found at Colorful Critters LLC on Facebook @colorfulcrittersLLC

I am a Copy Specialist (web copy editor/publisher) at Sierra Trading Post and have worked with the company for over 17 years.
