Kade's Dark Embrace by Kym Grosso

An Erotic Paranormal Romance...

After a series of girls are ritualistically murdered on the cold streets of Philadelphia, seasoned detective, Sydney Willows, is forced to work with sexy, alpha vampire, Kade Issacson. While working the case, Sydney finds herself inexplicably drawn to Kade, fighting the passion she feels towards him. Kade, determined to solve the case and mete out justice, is captivated by the independent, fiery detective. As he attempts to protect her from a very real murderer, Kade grows concerned that the beautiful, but very human detective, could easily end up dead should she tangle with supernatural forces that are beyond her control.

The investigation leads them into a dark and dangerous world, deep in the heart of New Orleans, where together, they search for the perpetrators of the Voodoo killings. Sydney soon becomes the target of the killer and ends up fighting for her life and love in the Big Easy. If she makes it out alive, will she give into the intoxicating desire she feels for Kade?

This is such an exciting and action packed story, its kept me reading into the early hours. Vampires, wolves, witches are all in here. Detective Sydney Willows a kick ass, sassy women with a smart mouth is investigating an unusual murder, and finds herself working with Hot Vampire Kade Issacson. Instant sexual attraction blooms between them, however there are murders to solve and a sadistic killer to find. Well written, erotic and fast paced.... loved it. Can't wait to see whats instore for Luca.

Murder, mayhem, romance, sexy vampires, sexier shifters, strong female lead, what more could you want? This was a fun attention grabbing riveting book. Enough romance to make it sizzle, enough mystery to keep it thrilling. Couldn't put it down!

Philly's one and only hard headed, determined, and brave Sydney Willows is about to get an abrupt change in her life plans.  The death of a couple women, who are made to almost look like dolls smell of a paranormal crime.   She is thrown into working with P-CAP who handle the paranormal and along comes Kade Issacson...handsome and well packaged vampire.  He knows this woman is his and will do everything to show her that is the case.  The murders take them to New Orleans where Kade lives and the mix of Vampires and Magic appear and threaten his time with Sydney.   Loved the storyline and excited to read on about Luca, Kade's trusted right hand.

My biggest pet peve is when the writer tries to make the female lead into a strong independant worrior woman and she comes off as a b*tch• "i will not allow any man tell me what to do"• mean while she does things "her way" and gets herself in a dangerous situation that could have been avoided if she would have listened and not been stupid* augh!!!!

I feel like the two main characters have the same argument over and over.. and over... and over. She wants to work the murder case. He fears for her saftey and forbids it. She tells him to @#$ off while becoming annoyed that shes still attracted to him. Over and over.. and over. It was also rather unbelievable that EVERY male character in the book was lusting after or in love with her.. because shes just SO sexy. I really wanted to like this, but it annoyed me so much that I never got sucked into the story

What a delightful read. This is a great book that contains a little bit of everything that a reader could ever want. It has mystery, murder, mayhem, sexy vampires, loyal werewolves, and sex. I really enjoyed the romantic fantasy. It was a real page turner. I must admit, my family had to do without while I couldn't put the book down! Simply loved it.

I have mixed feeings on this book. The storyline, as a whole is pretty good, but I found the individual personalities of the characters rather annoying and at times even a bit ridiculous. Sydney and Kade are both control freaks, so I guess they are really made for each other. Sydney is so stubborn an unwilling to use any rational thought that everytime she walks out the door, she nearly gets herself killed. Then you have Kade who is even more of a control freak and way too possessive. I didn't like how he repeatedly told Sydney that she WOULD be his and only his, like a possession. Even if she didn't end up falling in love with him in less than a week, his immediate possessiveness was just a little too creepy for me. To me, it bordered on stalking. Everytime Sydney would try to put distance between her and Kade, he showed up. When he put her on the plane to New Orleans, I was screaming at the book. It felt like he "willed" their relationship into frution with his insistence that they would be together. If you like that sort of thing, then this book is for you. I just didn't care for the possessive and controlling feel of the book.

Kade’s Dark Embrace by Kym Grosso left me speechless more than once. I loved, loved, loved this book. If for no other reason than because I found out you can love and hate the heroine of the story with varying degrees of passion. I can honestly say that this is the first one I wanted to throat punch some sense into. Her attitude of  “I am a detective, I don’t need anybody” really got to me. However, without that attitude, I do not think I would have enjoyed the book so much. Twisted huh? I also like the way she wasn’t immediately falling at Kade’s feet even though she felt attracted to him. There struggle to work together was what actually drew them closer, that and Kade’s hotness. I am on the journey now to read more books in this series. I am definitely hooked. Toward the end of the book I was on pins and needles on what was going to happen and I love it when a book can hold my attention like that. I will take a book hangover like this anytime and come back for more. I give this book 5 stars*****.

My main issue with the book was Sydney. She is a horrid main character. She's a brat, stubborn, rude, impulsive, hypocritical, among other things. The only reason why I finished reading was because of Kade. He was a great male protagonist; strong, intelligent, and damn patient when it came to Sydney and her bad attitude. The beginning of the book was rushed and poorly written. All Sydney could think about was getting laid, even though the case meant so much to her, she really didn't do anything to solve it. She apparently hates supernatural cases yet refused to back down when this case turned into one and kept complaining about it. This book was frustrating to read.

Very well written novel. My only problem was the female lead was 'too stupid to live' variety.

Although the writing seemed a bit stilted at times I enjoyed the characters and plotline. Feisty female lead struggles with vampire lovers claiming, secondary characters very engaging.

It an ok read, I hate when the woman start off bold, sure and competent then turn weak. She was so stupid and putting herself, team and family in danger over and over again.

Kade's Dark Embrace by Kym Grosso is a very god read. It is paranormal erotica at its finest. The story has been told before, but I have not read one told this well in a very long time. Grosso's magic touch and attention to detail made this a fast paced, mysterious read. I enjoyed it.

I really loved this series beginning with Kade. I bought the series and then the audio books for most. All the characters are unforgettable, from Sydney, stubborn good cop, sexy lady to Tristan hot werewolf friend with benefits, to Kade who is the sexiest Vamp I've every read about. The story is a complete book with an epilogue that sets you up for the next book, however it is the complete story. This book one (stand alone) just makes my mouth water to start book two. I liked the audio so much I bought book two as as a single book to get the audio even though I have the boxed set. The series of murders appear to have supernatural killers. Kade is in charge of an immortal police force. Sydney is none too happy that he is put in charge of the case and she is supposed to follow him. Right--Sydney is not a by the book cop and even when the danger comes way too close she refuses to comply. Kade is a very powerful Vampire, not only that he wants and plans to have Sydney. Reading the two strong characters battle their chemistry as well as the bad guys is a great read. There is plenty of steam and characters you know you want to see again.
