Keep You Safe: A Novel by Melissa Hill

Every mother faces impossible choices. Vaccination is one of the hardest. For single mom Kate O’Hara, there was no decision to make. Her daughter, Rosie, is one of a small percentage of children who can’t be vaccinated against measles. All Kate can do is hope that her little girl is safe.

For mommy blogger Madeleine Cooper, vaccination was a leap of faith she wasn’t prepared to take. She and her husband declined controversial measles shots for their daughter Clara. All she can do is pray that it’s the right decision.

But when classmates Clara and Rosie both become sick will Kate pay for Madeleine’s choice?

A stunning, addictive and powerful new book club read that explores every mother’s worst fear and hardest decision from beloved Irish bestselling author Melissa Hill.

This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. I could not put it down. Keep the Kleenex box close by!

Whose job is it to keep our kids safe? Excellent read on a very hot topic. The author handled both sides very well and drew you in from the beginning.

I give this book, 5 stars!! Let me start off this review by saying, I adore books that cause a stir, that are full of controversy, and that make readers debate the topic, i.e. All The Ugly And Wonderful Things By Brynn Greenwood. That book caused a ripple in the book world, and I am absolutely certain this one will too. The Pro and Anti Vaccination debate is a heated one, and I honestly understand both sides. As does the author of this book. She did such a fantastic job with this topic, covering all view points, and wrote about something so heartbreaking with grace, and perfection. I actually did cry at one point in this book. As a mother of four, I cannot imagine watching one of my babies getting sick, and going through everything that this child in the story went through. It pull’s at your heart-strings, and makes you realize that every mom makes a decision for her children, and her family with their best interest at heart. Weather that be, vaccinating our not. Melissa Hill gave both sides a voice, and suggests, that instead of judging, realize people do things with good intentions and sometimes bad things happen. There is a lot to this book, and a lot not mentioned in the summary, so I am going to end my review here as to not spoil it
