Vickie Taylor loves books. She loves the way they look, the way they feel, and most especially the way they bring new people and words to life. It's no wonder then that her first real job - at the tender age of 12 - was shelving books at the public library.
It's a wonder she finds enough hours in the day to read, though. In addition to a full-time job and a busy writing schedule, Vickie raises championship American Quarter Horses on her ranch in Texas, and fosters dogs in need of new homes for the Animal Rescue League.
Her love of animals often shows up in Vickie's books. Virgin Without A Memory, Vickie's second book for Silhouette Intimate Moments, is especially close to her heart. The novel is set on a horse ranch much like her own, and many of the animals in the book are named after real animals in her life.
Oliver, a stray dog who makes an appearance in her third book, The Lawman's Last Stand, is based on Vickie's real-life dog Sierra, an eight-year-old Great Dane/Australian Shepherd mix she adopted last summer.
