It is actually a book that will explain a lot of things, and it will have a bunch of different things in it like map and what not. The next (fifth) book doesnt come out until fall. Its called Misguded Angels.

This book is a great insider. Inside it gives you different back rounds on all the characters, even some information you didn't know. It also gives you short stories of the beginning of blue bloods and how they came to be. If you have read and love the blue blood series, then you need this book. It will give you valuable insight into the Blue blood history.

This book was a fantastic "catch up" book for any true Blue Bloods fan of the series. With detailed character bios, backstories, and Blue Blood history, this book will serve as a great reference when needed to refresh your memory in between books. Coming out a few months before "Misguided Angel", the fifth book in the series, was a great idea, and will give fans the chance to get pumped for more brilliance from Melissa De La Cruz.

This is a great companion to the Blue Bloods Series! I loved the backstory on all the characters and cannot wait for Wolf Pact and Misguided Angels. It was really interesting to get the little snippets of stories from a different point of view and the between the books insight. The thing I like about this series is the premise, it is fresh and innovative and a great take on history. And this book gave us (fans of the Blue Bloods Series) even more to chew on while we wait for the next book and the new spin-off series with Bliss. I liked the humor some of the records have like in Kingsley's records where he puts in how gorgeous he is and Renfield believes the records are tampered with then an aside by Kingsley to say yes indeed he did tamper with them. I do however wish the map on pages 162 & 163 would have been a one-page map as it is hard to read with the crease in the middle of it. All in all this is a great companion to the series even if only to refresh your memory of what has happened in the previous books. 4 Stars

It read like a dictionary. 154 pages for $12? I don't think so. Waste of money. I like all the other up until now. Won't read any more.

Lavish parties. Passionate meetings in the night. Bone-chilling murders. Midterms. The day-to-day life of Schuyler Van Alen and her Blue Bloods friends (and enemies) is never boring. But there's oh-so-much more to know about these beautiful and powerful teens. Below the streets of Manhattan, within the walls of the Repository, exists a wealth of revealing information about the vampire elite that dates back before the Mayflower. In a series of short stories, journal entries, and never-before-seen letters, New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz gives her hungry fans the keys to the Repository and an even more in-depth look into the secret world of the Blue Bloods. Half-Blood Birth Name: Schuyler Theodora Elizabeth Van Alen Chase Origin: September 1, 1992, New York, New York Known Past Lives: None: she is Dimidium Cognatus (half-human, half-vampire), the first and only one of her kind. Azrael, Angel of Death, Twin Angel of the Apocalypse Birth Name: Madeleine Alexis Force, known as "Mimi" List of Human Familiars: See pages 84-88 in Records of Human Interaction for full list. (Too many to mention here; number in possible violation of the Code.) HA! Kingsley Martin Assigned to investigate the murder of Aggie Carondolet, Kingsley enrolled as a student at Duchesne. With his cocky confidence, smoldering air of mystery, and devastating good looks {NOTE FROM RENFIELD: SCRIBES, ARE YOU SURE VENATOR MARTIN HASN'T HACKED INTO THIS FILE?}, Kingsley was a legend only a week after arriving at Duchesne. {NOTE TO RENFIELD FROM K.M. HI RENNY!} You'll find fun facts like this and more scattered all throughout Keys to the Repository. It gives detailed accounts of all the main character's family backgrounds, current status, list of bond mates, physical characteristics, as well as city maps, a full history of the Blue Bloods, and a peek at Bliss's "Wolf Pack" side story in search of the Hounds of Hell. Lovely stuff for all followers of the Blue Blood series, like myself. It's a companion read, so don't expect much. I personally have a love/hate relationships with companion reads. On one hand, I enjoy the little details and shorts stories about all of my favorite characters, while on the other hand, I hate that the fans have to wait even longer for an actually book, and not just an encyclopedia, to continue the series. Yayy that Misguided Angel (Book #5) is right around the corner on October 26. We even get a special treat with Bloody Valentine, a romantic novella, that will be published next year! Double Yayy. Keys to the Repository answered some nice questions of mine (like: What was Schuyler and Jack's first meeting at the Perry St apartment like? or More insight to what happened to Dylan Ward) but then left me blank on so much more (like: Is it true that Stephen Chase, Schuyler's red blood father is only "presumed" deceased? or Wait, so . . . Kingsley was only believed to be trapped in the underworld and not finished?) If you like Schuyler and the gang, you'll enjoy all the "documents" within Melissa de la Cruz's newest work. Likes: "Mr. Darcy's Requests" was nice! "Stolen moments, stolen kisses, a secret oasis." Yummy! (pg 59) Dislikes: Sometimes there's so much information to absorb that I get overwhelmed and can only read the books for bits at a time.

Blue Bloods is complex, but in a really fun way. Each character has so many lives and so much history it can be fun to just lose yourself in their past lives. Keys gives a quick way to catch up on that history or just remind yourself of all things that have happened.

This is a great companion book to the Blue Blood series. While this book is not a new story in the Blue Blood series, it provides background information on the characters, the Blue Blood society and their legends. This book gives you a great overview of the series and the main characters in the series, even providing new detail to characters you thought you knew all about. I loved how this book was organized, with files on each characters and on the Blue Bloods myths and then Melissa de la Cruz would have a short story after each file to go along with what you just read. I really loved the short stories that go with the book series. It was great seeing some events from different perspectives, or learning more about a characters life that is unseen in the actual book. Having not read the Blue Blood series in a while, this book helped to refresh my mind about what has occurred in the last books and made me extremely excited for the release of Misguided Angel. I loved learning more about the characters and seeing, in a way, how Melissa de la Cruz formed this complex Blue Blood series and created all these characters. This book is a must read for any fan of the Blue Blood series who wishes to learn more about the characters and events that take place in the books.

Here's the thing, if you're curious about the series but not quite sure if you want to follow it, you can start with this. It's gives you a fair picture of de la Cruz's interpretation of Vampires. I, personally, am impressed more than anything. She really owned it not just with the history and mythology but came up with terminologies and jargons to accompany the story. That in my book is astounding, you can tell that this world is very real to her and de la Cruz was, and hopefully still is, inspired when she conceptualized the series.

I didn't think that I was going to be interested in this book. But, I found I was very interested in the background of all the characters. It was a great read and filled in some of the gaps.

A short little book to fill the spaces between Blue Blood novels. While not a novel itself, Cruz gives us a few glimpses into the history of the Blue Bloods, as well as the characters we know well (and some we don't). She also includes a few short stories, which are fun. Especially the one about Bliss and the Hounds of Hell (or whatever they're called), which is potentially a new (and exciting) series.

Contrary to what I originally thought this isn't the next book in the Blue Bloods series, instead it is a kind of companion to the series. It is a good addition to the series and has some great stories in it.This book is an conglomeration of a variety of things. There are some great short stories that fill in missing pieces. We get a story about Schuyler and Jack's first rendezvous at the house where they meet secretly. Another story about Schuyler and Jack's last meeting from Jack's point of view. A short story featuring Bliss that introduces De La Cruz's new Wolf Pact series. And another story that tells up what happened to Dylan Ward for the time he was missing earlier in the series. In addition to these stories there are short profiles on all of the different members of the families. Appendices discussing all of the side characters and all of the canine familiars. As well as an appendix going through terminology.Overall the stories were good, the extra information was interesting. It made me realize how complicated this series has gotten since I picked up the first book in the series and thought, huh well that was a pretty simple story. I would say this is a must read for fans of the series. I really enjoy De La Cruz's writing a lot and love this world she has created. This isn't necessarily a book you need to own, although the appendices are nice to have for reference when reading the series. I would recommend buying it used or getting it from the library unless you are a super huge fan and need to own the whole collection.

When I first read about this book I wasn't too excited since I'm not a big fan of companion books to series I enjoy. However, when I was offered the chance to review it I thought why not give it a try. I'm am glad that I did. It is filled with "files" on each of the main characters giving more background of which angel they are, their conduits and character observations. There are also short stories that fill in gaps from the rest of the books so we get to see more of Dylan's background, meetings between Jack and Schuyler and what happened between Kingsley and Mimi that brought them closer together. The best part in my opinion was that we get to a glimpse of Cruz's next series, Wolf Pact. It is just tantalizing enough to leave you wanting to read more and I cannot wait for the first book to come out. The book closes with the first two chapters of Misguided Angel just to wet your appetite for its release later this year. I would highly recommend this series for anyone who is a fan of the Blue Bloods series. It has me wanting to reread the entire series.

This book is suppose to be a companion novel for the series and I can honestly say that it did not tell me anything I didn't know. However, the best part about it was reading the reports made and actually knowing what someone said when questioned by the blue blood council. If you love the series then you should read this novel.

This is probably just something to keep the Blue Bloods fans happy while we wait for the real next book. :)It's pretty neat, though--a summary of the series so far (as told through repository reports and notes), plus short stories and scenes from different characters' perspectives. It was definitely fun, but for the serious fan only. Otherwise, I think you'd just be annoyed.

Eeek - this is one of those horrible books that contains short stories and interesting facts about characters. It isn't a proper book at all.I personally have a deep hatred of short stories. I never read them. I avoid them like the plague. There were a few tidbits of interesting facts I enjoyed reading. For the most part, however, I skipped the short stories and skimmed over the diary entries and character descriptions. It took me about 10 minutes to finish.

See I told you I will be back today..or tomorrow for the people on the East Coast or anywhere else. Anyways. This little novella is soo cute and it gives us an insight on what goes on in-between some things. Along with knowing a little bit more about some people. Like with what happened to poor Dylan when he was being hunted down. Or with what that first night for Sky and Jack was like. Or anything like that. Plus in Kingsley’s part he is soooo funny with what he does in his little section of the book. Anyways this book is like super short but a good one that I couldn’t put down but had to for several long agonizing minutes. But I made it through dinner and watching television with my parents to finish this book and to give you, my loyal fans and my fellow book lovers, on another good book by Melissa de la Cruz. And yes if anyone asked me about this book I will say that you should read it!!! Well after the other four books before this! I know I know I know. I say that about every book I have read so far but I only read books that I am certain that I will like. But I have two new books that I am going to read after I finish my last two Blue Bloods books of this series, that I own, that were given to me from a friend. So we shall see what I think about them. Well scratch that after I am done with one other book called The Scent by H.P. Mallory. It’s a second book in a series that I started reading a while ago so I am pretty excited to read it finally.
