What a fun book! I read this out loud to my kids at bedtime and they loved it. It tells true stories of US presidents from when they were children. Some of the stories are funny, some inspiring, and all of them are interesting. Even presidents struggled with their weight, bullies, and disabilities. Many of the presidents had passions for things other than politics, like animals, baseball, and arrowhead collecting. The stories in this book made our political leaders more human in the eyes of my kids. This book does not focus on the presidents' time in the White House other than a brief mention in each story. It focuses on their childhoods and one or two traits that made them unique. This is a good book for kids interested in learning more about the American presidents and what they were like as children. Content: clean Source: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Fun facts - great for adults as well as children! What a great source of information about the childhoods of many American Presidents and a great way to get children interested in History, too. The book presents the information in a humorous, engaging manner that will help children realise that they don't have to be great at everything and that resilience and pursuing their interests can actually have a beneficial impact on their future, too. It also shows that the Presidents were 'normal' children, too - some bratty, others brainy, a total mix! The illustrations, childhood biographies and fun facts make this an interesting read for adults as well as children! Read it to find out which President was a veteran and hero who fought the British by the time he was just fourteen years old . . . who performed in a circus . . . who went to live with Native Americans . . . and lots of other interesting facts! I think this book could easily be used by parents and teachers to help children become interested in history. It obviously refers to various eras and children may be interested to find out about particular aspects - such as collecting items such as arrowheads or baseball cards, learning to ride and do tricks on a horse! A great book and the humorous cartoon type illustrations just enhance the enjoyment for adults and children alike. Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too, for letting me read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

No-one can claim perfection and that goes for the many and varied individuals who have graced our nation's history to serve as President of the United States. From Washington to Obama, this book introduces a younger version of the men who eventually went on to become the leaders of this great nation. Whimsical stories with illustrations that enhance the good-natured tone of this book help keep it a fun read from beginning to end. Readers of all ages will enjoy reading Kid Presidents which is as entertaining as it is educational. Young readers are sure to find comfort and inspiration knowing that even our nation's great leaders experienced bullying, clumsiness, getting into trouble and more.  Kid Presidents is a great read which reinforces the point that anyone can grow up to be president.
