Kidnapped (The Marine's Love 1) by Alexandra Bell

Sienna Brooks became a photojournalist to help the rest of the world understand the plight of people in danger. So when she's offered a chance to travel to Somalia to photograph the civil war taking place there, she jumps at the opportunity.

Little does she expect to be kidnapped and held hostage, not knowing if each day will be her last, not knowing if she'll ever see the sun again. But when she escapes and runs into a US Marine, will he leave his post to help a complete stranger, or will she find herself alone in a strange and dangerous land once more?

This 15,000 word story is the first part of a trilogy.

This really lacked substance amd believability. Yes, there were events that occured throughout the story, but I just found it overall lacking and I was unable to immerse myself in the story even with the extensive-and probably unnecessary- background details. There was a scene where it said the girl had her hands tied behind her back, then in the very next sentence it said that she was given bread and water and she ate it, please tell me how this is physically possible. It was inconsistencies like this made it difficult for me to get into story.

I don't generally give bad reviews; I just don't leave one. However, this story was awful and made no sense. It's less than 40 pages and leaves you not only hanging but also expects you to buy that this woman is raped multiple times then gets excited over the Marine. Really??
