Synopsis:
Kidnapped is a historical fiction adventure novel, that takes place in the year 1751 in Scotland. The main character is David Balfour, a young man whose parents are now dead, has received a letter regarding an inheritance, directing him to travel to the House of Shaws, an estate near Edinburgh.
At the House of Shaws, he is taken in by his uncle, one Mr. Ebenezer Balfour. His uncle seems to resent David's presence, but eventually offers to help his nephew gain his rightful inheritance. Ebenezer turns out to be a bad actor, and has David kidnapped and sent away on a ship.
