Killian by Brenda Rothert

Killian Bosch knows he's his own worst enemy – he just doesn't give a damn. The star forward of a minor league hockey team, he's unstoppable on the ice. His reckless behavior, devil-may-care attitude and complete disregard for consequences have made him a major source of headaches for the Fenway Flyers' brass.

But the new Flyers owner is more steel than brass. Sidney Stahl is a disciplined woman who parlayed earnings from a college job into a real estate empire. She's determined to transform the Flyers from marketing nightmare to hockey powerhouse. Once she gets Killian in line, she knows the rest of the team will follow his lead.

The seduction of his sexy new team owner is a challenge too forbidden for Killian to resist. Sidney plays into his attraction as a means of controlling him, but soon finds that she's the one surrendering. It's all on the line as Killian and Sidney are forced to choose - business or pleasure?

I really enjoy hockey romances...but, the dialogue and chatacters' thoughts and reactions just did not square with what you would expect of a capable, intelligent, self-made female owner (right down to how she made decisions about her secretary/personal asst.) nor the sex in the book. Not the best book to be honest...

I enjoyed the dynamic between Sidney & Killian. It wasn't the usual sneaking around. This book told their love story a little differently than usual, and I liked that. When you read as many books as I do- especially similarly themed ones- this approach was a breath of fresh air. There could have been a little more details for a couple of situations but, overall, I really enjoyed reading this book.

The book was good but could have been better. I would encourage the author to go back and fill in some holes. The situatuon with Nicole could have been expanded and the blackmai and the initial draw

The story of Killian and Sidney (Sid). When the story begins, we learn that Killian has made quite a reputation for himself by getting in trouble, both on and off the ice (he's a hockey player). Sidney is a self-made woman, having investments and companies in various places. She just bought the minor league hockey team that Killian plays for. Despite her assertion that there is to be no sexual relationships between the staff and the players, Sid and Killian can't seem to fight their growing attraction. I think that author did a great job at building both characters so that you really felt the growing attraction and subsequent feelings they invoked in each other. I enjoyed the story's ending, which seemed to be HEA, but could also leave things open for a future book (or at least using those characters in a book of some of the other minor characters that appeared in this story). I really enjoyed it! The story was an easy read, where sentences flowed and you could tell it had been edited (only a few minor tweaks needed). Romance Readers received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Killian was a good book. I love a good sports theme book. Although it wasn't the best hockey love story I've read I liked both main characters. I think it just needed a little more to the story to make it a bit longer and not as predictable.

Another start to a great series from brenda...Love the hockey aspect with her stories and this one is no different. Killian is a real bad boy and gets into alot of trouble which at some point he needs to get out of. Sidney is a great character she is strong and determined plus she owns the team. Killian cant resist seducing her and I love the ongoing story. cant wait for the next one in this series to see what happens next with the team

Killian by Brenda Rothert Thursday, February 26, 2015 As my introduction to Brenda Rothert as a writer I found this story to be entertaining, fast paced, and hot with strong characters, an interesting storyline, and intimate scenes (hot hockey players and a great heroine). Killian is full of passionate romance with a happy ending. An amazing love story that was a quick and sexy read. The story had all of the characteristics that I like to discover when finding a good book to read: • One or more HOT alpha males • Hot chemistry between heroine/hero • Good story line • Good backup characters • Romance I am looking forward to reading more in this series as well as reading the 'Fire on Ice' series. Genre: Opposites Attract Romance Cover: 8/10 Writing: 8/10 Heroine: 8/10 Hero: 8/10 Hotness: 8/10 Romance: 8/10

5 Stars From Sammy's Book Obsession MY THOUGHTS~  I was provided with a Review Copy/ARC for review. Brenda Rothert is truly a great in the fictional hockey world! She did it again with the first book of a new series! I LOVED Killian! It's original and hot!  The writing of this book is impeccable as always with this author. The characters are even more amazing! They are all so well developed and really came to life for me! I want to really know them. In fact, I feel like I already do! -Let me live in my world people!  So, short and to the point, Brenda Rothert rocked it again with Killian and you will not regret buying this book! It will suck you in at the beginning and won't let your heart go long after you finish the last page!  Can't wait for more!!

Killian Bosh is a brilliant hockey player, his plays are sharp, and he has the respect of his new coach and teammates. Although he has the ability to play with the best of them, he keeps sabotaging himself. His attitude and his ability to get in trouble, from bar fights to bad publicity due to the company he keeps, are his worst enemies. But not even Killian's love and devotion of the game can dig out his team, The Flyers, from the hole they're in. Sidney Stahl is a savy and intelligent business woman, who just recently bought the Flyers and who's mission is to make them a winning team. Her first order of business being getting rid of the players that are not working out and change the attitudes of the trouble makers. When Sidney and Killian meet they can't deny the chemistry between them, it's sizzling and palpable, and even though they know nothing can happen between them because of their boss/employee relationship, they can't hide the attraction they feel for each other. Unknowingly they both become what the other needs. Sidney is the force Killian needs to change his attitude around and strive for bigger and better when it comes to his career, while Killian is the unconditional support system Sidney so much needs. I just love Brenda's style of writing, her ability to take the reader into the character's story. You have a pretty strong alpha male, but you also have a kick ass leading lady who doesn't let anyone put her down or push her around. These two are two forces to be reckoned with. There is some angst throughout the book, but mostly these are two mature characters in a journey of self discovering. I also have to mention that Brenda wrote in this book one of the most sensual scenes I've ever read. It's beautiful, it's powerful, and it will take your breath away. Go ahead and give Killian a chance, I promise he will not disappoint. I can't wait for the next books in this series!!!
