Killing You Softly

Killing You Softly is set in 2014 when coalition policies are biting more deeply across the country. In a Cornish village, three teenage girls, unsure of themselves sexually, struggle with both their adolescence and their attempts to understand the political changes around them.
For one of them, Becky Goldsmith, the truth about the local surgery slowly emerges: privatisation. And the first casualty is her GP father, driven from his job by trumped-up allegations.
Who is behind it all? A chain that starts with the father of her best friend, Sarah King, a man who has only two interests - women, preferably half his age, and making money. A chain ending in the heart of government.

About the Author

Neil Carpenter was born in 1950 in Cornwall. After reading English at Cambridge, he had a variety of lecturing jobs in England and abroad before returning to Cornwall to teach English in schools.
Since retiring, he has published his first novel, 'Killing You Softly', that reflects a lifetime's interest in politics. With luck, it also puts into practice what he spent years trying to teach students of English.
