so finally heard the whole cd its not bad but not there best doesnt have that killswitch engage sound if you know what i mean it sounds under produce it was like hey lets put this cd together real quick hopefully it sticks and since adam didnt help on this record i can see why, it does have a few good one but i guess they were just expermenting thats ok but i cant really get into to it really, doesnt have me listen to the whole more than once, expect for just certain songs, all there other cds from when jeese was in it until howard came along all there cds were amazing so you can buy this cd if you want not gonna tell you what to do give this cd 3 stars 1. cuz its killswitch engage 2. howard still has a great voice 3. for the good songs that were on it, well hopefully next cd will be a bit better but just like alot of bands aint nowhere to go but downhill unless they know what there doing still love killswitch engage and thats just my opinion

I have been a fan since their self titled and I will say this one really is boring and non-metal for my tastes. The focus here is being ear friendly and appealing to young teens who are influential. "Hot Topic teens" is the only way I can describe it. The songs all sound the same with the same formula with the scream/growl to very very catchy commercial emo melodic singing choruses. Its old. There is nothing new here except for the fact it is even more commercial sounding. I definitly would pass on this one. Sorry. There are so many new bands coming out that really have a "true" sound (thrash metal seems to be back) vs this commercial radio BS. I've always loved AOJB and feel that is the KsE album that represents the "real" KsE. TEOH was good as well. But after that, its become this mundane boring Hot Topic money making band. I think with this resurgence of thrash metal these are the bands that deserve some major exposure as they represent a more "real" form of metal than what KsE has turned into (mallcore).

While I agree that Adam D should have helped out with the production of this album, like he did the last 2 albums, which would have made for a more improved sound I think, I still thought this was an awesome album. Though there are 2 or 3 songs on it that I am not the biggest fan of, this album still has many great songs to offer. My favs are Starting Over, The Forgotten, and Light In This Darkened World. Great songs...and most of the rest of the album isn't bad either. I enjoyed it for the most part. If you are a metal or Killswitch Engage fan and have never heard them or scoped out this album, I do recommend this one, though I recommend 1st checking out The End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies. Those are their absolute best albums thus far in my opinion, but don't count out this album. This one still has many great songs to offer in my opinion. Check it out!
