Callan Baird used to laugh more than he frowned, but that was before his wife died. Now his life is duty, debts and a general apathy for anything else. And then Victoria Burke burst into his life. She's everything he wants to corrupt.
Victoria has two choices: agree to a grouchy, sexy Scotsman's extortion or call her boss to explain why she can't do her job. Since she's spent the last three years rebuilding her career as antique appraiser, and this one commission could make or break it, the decision is a no-brainer. Except everything about Callan is complicated.
He sees no problem turning their work relationship into a sexual one. She refuses to break her boss' no-fraternization rule. He's the one thing she wants and the one thing she can't have. He's had his one great love, and doesn't want a replacement. His heart doesn't agree, because she's everything he desires.
Callan will have to let go of his past if he wants Victoria to be in his future.

About the Author

Melissa Blue's writing career started on a typewriter one month after her son was born. This would have been an idyllic situation for a writer if it had been 1985, not 2004. She penned that first contemporary romance, upgraded to a computer and hasn't looked back since.

Outside of writing, Blue works as a mail clerk for the federal government, has a paralegal certificate (that she has more use for as a dust pan) and is a mother of two rambunctious children. She lives in California where the wine is good and, despite popular belief, is not always sunny.

Heartbreaking because Callen is still grieving for his wife. He doesn't want to want Victoria. Treats her like the other woman when he should say goodbye to his wife's grave and start living and loving again.

I received this book from Goddess Fish Promotions in return for a fair and honest review. This is the third book in the series although I haven't read any of the other books. This in no way affected my enjoyment and pleasure of this book. The main female in this book has made a HUGE error of judgment which endly badly, very badly, for her. She is determined not to make the same mistake again, nor to let down her new bosses. What she didn't count on was Callan/Jacob. He is a man suffering loss who doesn't want to move on. He doesn't want to like Victoria but her sassy mouth and bossy attitude have him liking her against her will. This story is light-hearted and steamy, with fun, laughter, tears and heartache all to be found within the cover of this book. There are a few inconsistencies with the story that I think are from the crossover from America to Scotland. Callan wouldn't be in debt with medical bills as the NHS is free in Scotland (or it was last I knew!) There are a couple of others, but that's just me nitpicking now. On the whole, this was thoroughly enjoyable and fun to read. Definitely recommended. Merissa Archarolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

A yummy Scotsman and a plucky heroine 4.5 stars “Kilted for Pleasure” by Melissa Blue is a contemporary romance set in Scotland which centers on Victoria Burke and Callan Baird who share a complicated work relationship. Victoria has been sent to Scotland to appraise and ship rare antiques but her job is complicated by the cantankerous but sexy man who bargains his restoration services for her attentions. The risk in flouting her employer’s non-fraternization rules is outweighed by the sizzling connection they make despite the fact that Callan’s past dictates his inability to plan a future with her. This delicious tale of lost love and the treasures to be won if one searches diligently enough is played out on several levels as Victoria’s job reflects her life. The beautiful contrast between the plucky but crafty heroine and the curmudgeonly but lusty Scotsman is deftly portrayed, and the scheming uncle adds a nice layer to the mix. I have not read the other stories in this series yet had no trouble getting drawn into this tale and establishing a liking for these characters. I love the gradual buildup of the relationship and the exotic location and slightly foreign customs that enrich the story and the emotional hurdles that have to be overcome give a depth to the story that kept me invested in the characters. I am impressed by the author’s ability to draw me into the story and will definitely be looking for more of her works! A copy of this title was provided to me for review.
