Kindergarten Rocks! by Katie Davis is the story of Dex, a preschooler who is terrified of moving on to kindergarten. In this short picture book, his sister shares with him some of her experiences, and on the first day, he learns that he has absolutely nothing to worry about, and that kindergarten does rock. He has tons of fun, and can't wait to go back. This is a wonderful book for sharing with any child who is afraid to go to school for the first time to soothe their fears. Dex is a sweet, relatable character that many children will see themselves in. It's great for sharing one-on-one in a library or at bedtime as well as with whole groups of children in the preschool or kindergarten setting.

We bought this book for our Grandson, as he will be starting Kindergarten this fall. He and his Mother love reading it together. A lovely book for children to read with their parents or grandparents.

I am a principal of a small elementary school and gave each incoming kindergartner this book at the Kindergarten Orientation in June. I received many thank yous from parents and new students regarding Kindergarten Rocks. It is a great book to quell any fears about starting school in September and they can reread the book all summer!!! Thank you. RZ Principal of TJES

I read this book to my future kindergartners at orientation. It gave us the opportunity to discuss the fears of the main character (and possibly theirs). By the end of the story everyone is a lot less nervous about starting school. They left cheering, 'Kindergarten rocks!'
