About the Author

Constantin Silviu Portelnicu was born in 1957 and raised in Romania during the communist regime. While a young man, in 1978, the help of a diplomat and some publicity from Radio Free Europe resulted in the Romanian government exiling him to Italy. He stayed in Italy for two years and then was granted asylum to enter the United States. After coming to New York City, he worked hard at different jobs there and obtained his U.S. citizenship. He was trained in graphic arts which he has now used to develop a series of children's storybooks.
