About the Author

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels - the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Hopeful, The Empire State Series, Parisian Nights, Promised Nights, Indigo Nights and King of Wall Street.

Ruined by bonk-busters and sexy mini-series of the eighties Louise loves all things sexy and romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn't have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!

Hot, Hot, Hot!!!! This was a very steamy read!!! I have yet to read this author before but I was definitely a fan of her work! I’m a sucker for office romances and alpha males so this was the perfect read for me!! Max King was known as the King of Wall Street. He had this confidence about him that was beyond attractive. I will say it was quite strange how Max was the King of the office but was pretty much clueless when it came to women and dating. I think he spent so much of his young adult years working on his career, that he had no idea how to date or what women wanted. I don’t think Max even knew what he wanted to be honest. Sure he had the hookup thing down pat BUT getting to know someone and spending time with them was an entirely different ball game. As far as Harper goes, I loved her name. It’s my favorite girl name at the moment. I loved how hard she worked. I loved how she didn’t let an absentee father stop her from achieving her dreams. BUT I had some issues with her relationship with her father. Throughout the entire book, we are told her father did not care for her and just threw money at the situation to avoid any personal contact or effort. Then closer to the end, the situation comes to a head and we have the solution tied into a neatly wrapped bow. It was too perfect for me and did not coincide with what we thought this entire time. It also seemed a bit to rushed to wrap up the story line. Max and Harper’s whirlwind romance was so fun to watch. I loved the playful banter they had with each other and seeing their feelings for each other before they themselves realized them. Have I mentioned how steamy this book was?! lol!!! The epilogue for this one blew me away. I loved reading it and seeing what was going on with our characters. Please let this crew be included in the other books for this series.

Wow this is one hot office romance, but it's not just about the sex it has characters you can't help falling in love with it also is a story that's believable. Max is a single dad who will always put his 14 year old daughter first. He has a perfect balance between his business and personal life. That was until Harper starts working for him and his sisters and daughter decide Harper would be the perfect girlfriend for him. Harper is sassy and sexy and she is the most infuriating woman Max has ever met. So why does his mouth water when she bends over the photocopier, Harper is going to have to learn I don't just rule the boardroom !! This book has everything going for it from the storyline to the cover its perfect. The characters are loveable and funny and what's not to love about a dad putting his 14 year old daughter before everything. Max is the perfect dad and a perfect lover he gets the balance right. I read this book in one sitting, I was hooked from the first chapter. I loved it !!!!

Three and a half stars. I recently read The British Knight and enjoyed it so much I thought I would read some of Louise Bay's other books in what appears to be a series. Harper Jayne is the illegitimate daughter of Charles Jayne, the wealthy founder and senior partner of JD Stanley. She and her father have barely interacted over the years, he was absent more often than he was present and she has cut off all contact with him since she was at college. His form of love is to throw money at an issue, including his daughter. Harper is also angry that he offered employment to her three half brothers after they graduated college, but not her. Harper works for Max King, the so-called King of Wall Street, as a junior researcher. This was her dream job, one she worked really hard to get, but her boss' attitude makes her hate him. Max King has become successful by keeping his personal and professional lives separate. During the week he is the King of Wall Street, living in a penthouse apartment in Manhattan, driven, professional and having hook-ups with random women. At the weekends he is devoted to his fourteen year old daughter Amanda and their home in Connecticut where his parents, his sisters and Amandas mother (and her husband) also live. His newest researcher, Harper Jayne threatens that neat distinction and he does everything in his power to avoid her as much as possible. I felt that this book suffered from character drift (I Just made that up), you know, when a character starts off one way and then by the end of the book they have changed dramatically but not through personal growth and development but just because the plot requires them to react in certain ways? For example, when Amanda's mother and her husband move to Europe Max is portrayed as very much a weekend father who doesn't really have much involvement in the real bringing up of his daughter, baffled by her moods and unable to cope with her teenage demands. But by the end of the book Max is being portrayed as a Superdad, totally devoted to his daughter and fully engaged in everything to do with Amanda, heck it's one of the things Harper loves about him! And here I go, boring old fart again, gawd there was too much sex. I'm not sure how Harper and Max fell in love between their antagonistic work relationship and the non-stop shag-fest they didn't really talk, or if they did it was all off-stage. All the reader sees is one sex scene after another. Don't even get me started on Harper's BFF Grace, her 'insights' into Harper and her relationship with her father just felt wrong, as indeed did the showdown between Harper and her father.(view spoiler) I will continue reading Louise Bay's books in this loose series to see which of these books is more representative of her writing, the plots are good, if somewhat predictable.

I really, really enjoyed this book. It was sassy, funny, steamy and sweet. Mistakes were made on both sides, they were both idiots, they were both sweethearts. I loved it. It was real, refreshing, and hot! The chemistry between Max and Harper scorches the pages, and I don't just mean their bedroom antics. More than anything I really enjoyed their back and forth banter and Max's relationship with his family. Overall, a joy to read. Can't wait to see what Louis Bay does next!
