About the Author

KNOW CHRIST TODAY.org director and founder: Elder Dorian G. Newton

Know Christ Today.org is a teaching Web-Ministry founded “ for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ...” “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.” - Eph. 4:12, 14-15.

The website acts as a hub to provide leadership training, podcasts of sermons and lectures, various training and teaching ministries, a monthly e-newsletter, bible study instruction and resource materials, access to published materials produced by the ministry and a calendar of local events and activities.
A native of Houston, Texas, Elder Newton, grew up in the church and on July 1, 1990, after answering the call to the ministry, he was licensed to preach the Gospel. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and remained on active duty until 2002, during which time he met his wife of twelve years the lovely Jermaine Newton.

He is a graduate of Old Dominion University and is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at George Washington University. In 2007, he became a covenant partner with Tabernacle of Prayer Church (T.O.P.C) serving under his current pastor, Dr. Minnie B. Washington. On December 13, 2009, under presiding Bishop Spencer H. Riddick, Jr., he was officially ordained and recognized as an Elder of Tabernacle of Prayer Church.

Elder Newton has served in a variety of capacities during his time with Tabernacle of Prayer Church and is the current Director of the Men’s Ministry, the Freedom in Redemption Evangelism Ministry (F.IR.E.) & conducts weekly Bible study classes. Most importantly, he is a preacher, a teacher & a true servant of God who is filled with the Holy Ghost.
