Kiss Me (The Keatyn Chronicles Series #2) by Jillian Dodd

I've always written scripts for my perfect life.
But no way could I have ever scripted this.
My life is so far from perfect, it's not even funny.
All because of a stalker.

I'm at a boarding school, where I have to lie about who I am.
I can't see my family.
I'm tutoring a hottie god that tortures me with his smile.
The most popular girl already hates me.
But there's this boy.
This hot, sweet, sexy boy.
So I'm going to stop trying to script my life and just live it.
Because who knows how long I have left.

Review: So I had every intention of reading a few pages out the book, and going back to the book I am supposed to be reading for a tour. A ton of hours later it is 5 am, and I am finishing the book. This book sucked me in very much like Jillian’s last book Stalk Me. The only thing that truly upsets me is that I have to wait for April for the next book. What a cruel world this is. Okay maybe there is two things that upset me. I can’t decide what team I am on. I have heard some complaints that the stalking story takes kind of a back seat to the main story. If you think about it the stalking is very much a big part of the story. If Keatyn didn't have the creepy stalker, then she wouldn't have had to uproot her life and move here. She wouldn't be having all these new experiences with all these new people. FTC: This book was given to me by the author.

This book is sooooo amazing. For those who dont know the order of the books, its: Stalk me, Kiss me, Date me, then Love me. I think the best thing about this book is that once you are captured and intrigued by the plot, you start to feel like you are standing right beside keatyn as she struggles with her not-so-perfect life. And at some points as i was reading this, i felt like i was keatyn! That is how much detail there is. Okay so im going to leave you be so you can buy this whole series. Trust me, once you read one, you cant get enough.

Haven't we wished we could pack up and move somewhere and be someone else? This is how it all begins, but Keatyn can't run from who she is or her past. Yes, it's unfortunate that she had to leave her family and "friends" behind. Honestly, why the $%^& is she even upset that she left her school friends? They were awful. With the exception of Cush, everyone else sucked. She still got to keep Brooklyn and Damien which are the only two friends she actually had. Let's be honest. Any way, I kind of adore Riley and Dallas. They're adorable and really fun. I even kind of love Dawson even though I'd been hoping she'd totally get with Aiden. All was good and well until he screws it all up, but can we really say we didn't see that coming? Like the last, maybe it deserved three, but I gave it four stars.

So, I’ve read the others in this series, and I have to say, each one just keeps getting better.  Wow! I couldn’t put this one down and stayed up way to late reading! Keaton is such a great character. She has grown so much through the last three books. I love where Jillian has taken her and how much we have gotten to see from her. This book was even more exciting from that aspect. And then, I have to say, I am definitely team Aiden! I adored this book and can’t wait until August when the next one comes out!

4.5 Glittery Stars! *Warning* The Keatyn Chronicles must be read in order! This one starts right where the last one left off so you’ll want to check out Stalk Me before diving into Kiss Me. Team Aiden! Team Dawson! OMG – I can’t decide – Gorgeous or God of all Hotties?? Damn, who would you choose? Exactly…you can’t do it either, can you? Then there’s Dallas…and Damian…and Riley…and Brooklyn… and Cush…and…well, I’m guessing you get the picture. In Kiss Me, Keatyn is now in boarding school and is just starting to figure out who she is and what she wants. She’s left behind so much – family, friends, her home, and hopefully her stalker. But she is still the same feisty, chill Keatyn I loved from Stalk Me. She didn’t leave that behind. In this installment of the Keatyn Chronicles, one month passes. And what a month it is! Keatyn’s life is constantly in motion with school, friends, boys, and parties. I found myself riding the roller coaster of emotions that Keatyn goes through. Jillian Dodd captures her feelings and thoughts so perfectly! I found myself going from laughing out loud to being sad for Keatyn in the space of a moment. And to me, that is exactly what I’d expect being immersed in the life of a young woman who is desperately trying to figure out who she is and stay away from someone intent on hurting her. I told myself that I was not falling in love. I’ve tried not to care for Dawson. But, apparently, I didn’t try hard enough. That’s it. I am officially done with boys. Forever. I’ll become a nun or a lesbian or a get a sex change or something. Maybe sew my vagina shut. I laugh at my stupidity and then cry myself to sleep. Ohmigawd – I love this girl! There is also still the element of fear laced throughout with her stalker on the loose which adds to the emotional element. She has to learn to live with not telling the whole truth to those she starts to build friendships with yet still figure out who she really is. I’m hooked on this series and am eagerly anticipating book 3, Date Me.

Liked it better than book 1! Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. In fact, I liked it better – yes, better! – than the first book in The Keatyn Chronicles series. Kiss Me kept me reading and I can’t wait to see what happens in Date Me. This installment of The Keatyn Chronicles had me caught up in Keatyn’s new life. I like her new life so much more than her Hollywood life. Keatyn was more real in this book. She’s growing up a bit, figuring out who she is. I love how strong Keatyn is in this book. She has to deal with a very scary situation and she is dealing rather well. I’m impressed by that. For 16, she could have gone in a very different direction. Keatyn does flirt a lot and can’t make up her mind about guys. But I chalk that up to her age. The new characters are wonderful. Some are like her old friends. Some are completely different. Aiden and Dawson are great love interests for Keatyn. I’m not a big Aiden fan. He seems to run too hot and cold for me. And he is rather immature. Dawson seems like a sweetheart. He’s a typical teen-aged boy but he is good for Keatyn. Dallas and Riley are great friends for Keatyn. They are her friends and her brothers (in a way) and I adore them both. They really look after her and want to be her friend…not anything else. Whitney and Peyton seem typical but I like Peyton a lot more at the end of Kiss Me. Whitney is your typical spoiled brat who thinks she is the queen bee. Are there parts of this book that I still find unbelievable? Yes, but more believable than Stalk Me. I can see drinking and drugs at a boarding school more so than being served at a bar or hotel. I can see the sneaking in and out of the dorms. This boarding school sounds more like college than high school, but I can see it. Can I see a 16 year old buying her own loft in New York City? No, but in this situation, I guess it could happen. Can I see a group of high school kids leaving their school and going away for the weekend to someone’s vacation home? Not really, but it works. Can I see a dean taking part in the cafeteria scene? Absolutely not!!! Did that scene make me smile and giggle? Absolutely!! Would I recommend it: The same as Stalk Me, I would recommend this book to those who like contemporary YA and light reads. Read Stalk Me first though. Will I read it again: I will not but I am looking forward to reading Date Me. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

The second episode of the The Keatyn Chronicles, Kiss Me, finds Keatyn at boarding school under the name of Keatyn Moore, her alias.  After the creepy creeper Vincent tried to abduct her, she had to change everything about her life and go into hiding, because there wasn't enough evidence to arrest him.  Vincent is persistent, dangerous, and still actively trying to find out where Keatyn is.....thus the drama continues.  I wanted to share this paragraph from Jillian Dodd from the beginning of Kiss Me, so that you understand what the Keatyn Chronicles is about.  "The Keatyn Chroicles are similar to a television series.  The books do not stand alone and this book begins the same night book one ends.  There is no recap of the story..."  At the end of this paragraph a brief description is given of the last scene in Stalk Me, just like you would see at the beginning of a television show.  I just love Keatyn.  She is fun loving, outgoing, charismatic, boy crazy, loves to party, smarter than people give her credit for, is very sensitive regarding others feelings, she can be a prissy fashonista, and can hang out and just be one of the boys.  Yes, she has had "quite a few" boyfriends.......Cush (swoon, swoon, swoon) who she had to leave behind when she did her disappearing act, then there is Brooklyn, and we can't forget The God of All Hotties, Aiden, who she has been crushing on since her encounter with him on her first day at boarding school.  Her two new partners in crime are Riley and Dallas.  She and Dallas like to hang out at night at the cave, get their buzz on, and kiss a little, but are still just friends.  Then there is that hot, sweet, sexy boy she talks about in the synopsis, Dawson.  Dawson is Riley's older brother.  He and Keatyn did not start out on the best of terms and in fact didn't get along to well.  They end up apologizing to one other, becoming friends, then the relationship grows into a whole lot more - and it is definitely hot, sexy, and sweet.   Kiss Me chronicles a month in Keatyn's life, and boy is it ever an exciting month, with more happening during that time frame that most teenagers would see in a year.  She is still dealing with her feelings/attraction for Aiden, and agrees to tutor him in French.  Theirs is a complicated relationship to say the least.  Even though she says that Dawson and her are not dating, what occurs between them during this month is really a lot more and they are obviously crazy about each other.  I was team Cush in book one, but I am definitely team Dawson in book two.  Who I'll be in book three, remains to be seen.  Normally, I wouldn't like a girl who hops from boy to boy, but with the way Jillian Dodd writes Keatyn's character, it just works, and I couldn't help but just love her.  There are some serious and scary moments in Kiss Me, as well as some really fun moments, and some really hot steamy moments as well.   I absolutely loved this book, and I love this series.  I cannot wait for Date Me to see what happens next.  The Keatyn Chronicles really is like a television show.  The synopsis of Stalk Me begins with "Gossip Girl Meets Hollywood."  I think if you go into this series keeping in mind, that that is what it is like...a fictional television series.......then you can truly appreciate it and have fun right along with Keatyn.  I know I have had a blast.  Enjoy it?  Yes I most certainly did.  Recommend it?  Yes I most certainly would.

And so the insanity that is Keatyn's life continues. Sent to a boarding school to protect herself and her family from a crazed stalker, Keatyn just wants to fit in. Lead a normal life. But it's hard to blend in when every single guy in your school wants you. When the most popular girl in your school hates you. But Keatyn is a hard girl to keep down, and she intends to live her life the way she wants. Kiss Me was a fun sequel to Stalk Me. I really like books set in boarding schools, especially co-ed schools, and this was no exception. The life these kids lead, I just can't even relate to on any level, but it's still fun to read about. When they talked about their mega expensive cars, clothes, homes, or the fact that they are able to obtain alcohol at any time without trouble, I have to remind myself that this is just fiction. These kids lead lives like those on television. Guilty pleasure. Though I like the story and that it was set at boarding school, I don't feel like a lot happened in this installment of The Keatyn Chronicles. Keatyn is basically laying low, hiding from her stalker. Except for the times she runs off on an adventure, against everyone's wishes. And my gosh, her parents are just ridiculous! But still, even though I don't feel a lot happened plot-wise, there was a nice change in Keatyn's character. When she came to school, Keatyn was a girl who kisses every single guy she knows, declares her love every other day, and is just boy crazy. She made nice strides towards slowing down and just relaxing, letting things develop naturally. So I did like that. It's hard for me to describe my feelings about Kiss Me. I liked it, I really did. I will say that I would only recommend this for very mature teens. There are a lot of scenes with drinking and smoking pot. And there are a lot of sexual situations. Scenes that I would say are physically responsible, if not emotionally. And I would take the story and series for what it is, a simply fun story.

I can't deny it. I'm a KC groupie. I'm even in a Keatyn Chronicles discussion group. There are theories flying around all over the place about "WHO WILL KEATYN END UP WITH???" Well, we have a long way to go before we find that out. In the meantime...I'm enjoying all these yummy guys she gets to choose from.  While Keatyn's indecisiveness in Stalk Me, drove me nuts, it didn't seem to bother me much in this one. Maybe it's because of DAWSON. Oh my, Dawson. I wasn't sure I could love anyone more than Cush for Keatyn, but I sure was wrong. Now, in true Keatyn fashion, she "thinks" she wants Aiden, but really...Dawson is the perfect guy for her. However, Dawson is also a bit uncertain. He's a bit stuck on his ex or like Keatie, thinks he is. Once Keatyn and Dawson spend more time together though, they can't deny that they have strong feelings for each other. I love Dawson and Keatyn together and will admit that I will be a bit crushed if they don't end up together. The only one that would make it "ok", would be if she ended up with Damien. I know...you're all shocked that I'd pick the rocker.  We still have the stalker to worry about in this book. Plus, we get to see a small blip of Cush, Damien, and Brooklyn. Urgh, Brooklyn. I missed her parents in this book. Although, we do see them in bits and I really love her talks with Tommy. The cast of characters continues to entertain me. The group definitely provides a winning combination. They are funny, swoony, and are certain to provide teenage angst.  Whether you like Dawson, Cush, Damien, Riley, Dallas, Aiden, or Brooklyn...one thing remains; WHO is Moon Boy??? I have a guess and I can't wait to see if I'm right. For now, hang in there members of the KC Club. Date Me's release is right around the corner! I can't wait!!!! *While the age range says Mature YA, I'd personally list it as NA. There is a more mature feel to it and there is sexual content.  Quotes: (FYI, I had 8 pages of highlights) ~He leans in and kisses me. A slow, sweet kiss. And I can't help it. I kiss him back a little. Just, like, to verify my opinion of his kissing.-Loc 1143 ~"If only boys came with warning labels. Like, yours would be: Do not kiss when drunk. Riley's would be: I'm going to sleep with you and your best friend too."-Loc 1384 ~"I still want to take it slow. I still can't tell you how I feel, but I'm thinking this picture has the potential to be better than what I'm used to."-Loc 2515
