Rue Allyn's "Knight Errant" is the first tale in The Knight Chronicles. It's great! I loved it. I couldn't put it down. The characters are great and the story was very detailed. Lots of hot scenes (more than you usually get with a historical!). Robert is super sexy. So broken and in need of her fixing! I can't wait to read #2 and #3!

Disclaimer: I received this free in exchange for an honest review. Erin's Book Reviews: http://erinbedford.com/bookreviews Lady Juliana Verault never planned to marry. She longed to be a free woman with her sisters in faith never to be under the control of a man. But when disaster strikes the sisters on their way to Palermo, Italty and she is rescued by a handsome yet beguiling knight and her outlook on men begins to change. Sir Robert Clarwyn is a cursed man. Stripped of all property and Baron in name alone he desires above all else to reclaim his family's honor and when the King of England gives him that chance he will not let anyone stand in his way. Not even the beautiful woman he promised to deliver. I seemed to be reading a lot of stories with strong women in them. That or it is just the trend lately. Though, I can't say I am sorry. Juliana hides her emotions behind a serene smile. An ultimate poker face and one that her new burly guide wants nothing more than to wipe from her face. Her dedication to her faith is award worthy as well as her determination to live a free woman. I love that the author talks about the hardships of women in the 13th century. Forced to rely on male family members to make all their decisions, they are lucky to find one who doesn't use their fist to get their way, let alone love them. Juliana and her sisters are determined to prove that women are not evil in a male driven world and their commitment to their cause will have you burning your bras to show your support! Besides the historical aspects of the novel, the love story between Robert and Juliana is breath taking. A man that feels he does not deserve love and a woman who has plenty of love to give, just not to a man. The way they find each other, especially with all odds against them, makes you believe in true love again (if you ever didn't in the first place). I give this one a majestic four bunnies!
