Fire. The most chaotic of the primal elements. When wielded properly by the Knight of Flame, it burns like the sun. But when left unchecked, it slowly consumes the Knight, burning away his control, driving him towards dark deeds.

Defending humanity against the forces of Shadow, the Knights Elementalis remain vigilant, guarding against the emergence of the last Gray Lord. Stationed in Tampa, FL, Develor Quinteele, fourteenth Knight of Flame, simmers in anticipation, longing for the coming conflict. Hampered by a centuries-old tragedy, Dev knows of only one way to invoke his elemental power—rage. It broils just below his surface, waiting for the slightest provocation to set it alight.

Anticipating Dev's transition from asset to liability, his commander assigns a young guardian, Wren, to report on Dev's actions. Torn between duty and love, Wren struggles to calm her Knight; but, after a brutal attack by the Gray Lord's minions for which Dev is held responsible, he's stripped of his freedom until he regains control.

Forced to confront a centuries-old tragedy, the Knight of Flame must discover the balance to his fire-stoked rage and the driving source of his power to prevent his Order's ancient enemy from destroying all life in Tampa.

I'm at a lost for words on how I felt at the end....on one hand I was left WOW'ed, but on the other I wanted.... no, CRAVED .....MORE!!! For this being the first installment of the knights I wonder how our AWESOME author is going to top this. I personally will be stalking Mr. Eder as I await any inkling of the next knight!!!!

Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Knight of Flame (Knights Elementalis) by Scott Eder is an adventure-cum-fantasy story filled with suspense and intrigue that will enthrall readers. The story is set in Tampa, Florida. Develor Quinteele is the sixth Knight of Flame. He gets angry at the slightest provocation and he has no control over his temper which is his downfall. He waits for the coming of the Gray Lord who is his enemy. Dev is framed for a brutal attack done by the minions of the Gray Lord. It is his anger that leads him to it. Will Dev finally learn to control his rage? Will he be able to save Tampa from destruction? I liked the characterization of Dev. It is based on fire, one of the four elements. His anger slowly consumes him, burning him away. The author has woven all the twists, turns, sub-plots and plot skilfully together and has kept up the tempo of the story. The protagonist and all the other characters have been etched very well and they leave a lasting impression. The story, apart from the fantasy and adventure, also deals with relationships. I liked the concept of the elements incorporated into the characters of the knights. It is something that adds to the uniqueness of the story. The writer's language is simple and stark, making the narrations excellent, crisp, and clear.

Reviewed by Kayti Nika Raet for Readers' Favorite Knight of Flame by Scott Eder is a contemporary fantasy set in Tampa, Florida. A heroic band, the Knights Elementalis, are said to be descendants of King Arthur's Round Table, although a couple of the knights seem to predate the medieval legend. One knight represents each of the elements, with a Merlin-like figure in charge of prophecies. Dev, the Knight of Flame, is the leader of the group as they battle to save Tampa from the clutches of the Shadow, a group of otherworldly evildoers (though we mostly view things from the perspective of third son, Alexander Gray). A fantasy thriller that is a deft blend of both genres and perfect for readers who want a fast-paced, action-filled tale of good versus evil. Knight of Flame, the first book in the Knights Elementalis, starts off with a bang, with car chases, marauding prehistoric elephants, and an out-of-control fire. Of course the bad guys are wickedly nefarious; they even have dark eyes, the quickest way to prove a character's bad guy status. I actually wished the bad guys were a little less cut and dried - not that I was expecting a bleeding heart back-story - but since Alexander's point of view was shown, I kept want him to be meatier, more fleshed out like our hero Dev. Other that that, Knight of Flame was perfectly engaging with lots of action, a dash of humor and self-sacrifice, as well as a bittersweet romance. With the way it ended though, I’m sure Scott Eder will soon have legions of fans clamoring at his door, hoping for Book 2.

Reviewed by Jean Hall for Readers' Favorite Meet Develor Quinteele, the heroic sixth Knight of Flame. Develor or Dev has been stationed in Florida to watch for the re-emergence of the last evil Gray Lord. The story bridges the gap between Dev's ancient life as a plain, weapons-smith and his modern one as a supernatural guardian. Scott Eder in Knight of Flame creates a blend of movie-like action and cosmic drama. The story begins when Dev and his young friend Wren drive to the fashionable Club Mastodon. Club owner and corporate executive Alexander Gray is one son of the evil Gray Lord. Icy club maven Triessa Gray begins to drain the life forces from the club's party goers. An attractive, blue-eyed reporter named Cassidy Sinclair joins Dev and Wren as they escape from a jet-black dragon. The righteous anger of the Flame Knight burns with intensity as he itches for a fight. He battles Triessa's deadly forces, a re-animated mastodon skeleton, gray-skinned zombies, and the minions of evil. Scott Eder plots the action at a steady pace with supernatural, grisly, and mind-bending surprises. There are flashbacks to Develor's fire-branding torture when he became one with the unpredictable element. The wide range of colorful and dark characters is presented like a finely-woven tapestry. The Knight of Flame is a strong and sympathetic character who is bound by the awesome power of smoldering and raging fire. The elemental Knights of Flame, Water, Earth, and Air all work together to preserve the fragile earth. Knight of Flame by Scott Eder ignites powerful elements in an epic struggle.

Knight of Flame has it all! Action, adventure, fantasy, knights, dragons and romance. The characters have such depth that it is easy to believe you have personally crossed their paths. Scott paints amazing images of the 'cradle' and the fight scenes had me holding my breath! My husband and I both devoured Knight of Flame and are already looking forward to the next book in the Knight's series.

Knight of Flame by Scott Eder is a perfectly written fantasy novel about the role of the Knights Elementalis and Shadow in our time.  The story line is imaginative and exciting, tragic and exhilarating all at the same time.  I was hooked from the very first page.  Infused with humor, these characters walked away with a huge piece of my heart.  And dragons!  Who doesn't love dragons....?  I am happily anticipating more.

Fire, Earth, Air, Water. Dev is the fire knight. He is a skilled fighter and a powerful wielder of fire. Perhaps too powerful. In addition to his shadow enemies controlled by The Lord Gray, Develor Quinteel is fighting his own demons. Haunted by tragic events when he accepted the powers but had not yet learned to control them, He seems to be heading out of control in modern Tampa, Florida. With enemies on the move, he must find his balance, or he may become as dangerous as the enemies he fights. Scot Eder has written a new urban fantasy with fantastic beings, magic, and a good dose of swash and buckle. Once the action starts, the reader will want to know what happens next.

This isn't your ordinary Knight versus dragon book. It's a modern day fantasy of the highest order. I love that the main character actually develops, over the course of the book, into a really interesting person. I'll grant that he's got some anger issues (you find this out in the first chapter, not really a spoiler there), but I really enjoyed the way he works with his anger to manage his magic... and where he goes with it. all in all, I really loved the work. Good job Scott Eder, I'm looking forward to the next one!
