Stepping into an abandoned warehouse, Sergeant Nicols peered into the gloom. The naked body of a teenaged boy hung between two rusty pillars about two feet apart. Nicols is reminded of a murder nine years earlier when he had been unable to prevent a miscarriage of justice. All of the previous suspects are again in the frame and Nicols is determined that this time he will uncover the real culprit.

About the Author
Alistair Kinnon (a.k.a Hugh McCracken) was born in Glasgow, Scotland and had his early education somewhat interrupted by evacuation during World War II. After taking a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at St Andrews University he worked for some time as a Chemical Engineer, and had some adventures in France, before becoming a teacher. He, his wife Lyn, and son David, relocated to Canada in 1967 where his second son, Iain, was born. While teaching in Canada, Hugh completed a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology at the University of Manitoba.
