I loved this story. It was interesting and had some very inovative ideas. I really loved the grandfather and the task he sent the couple on. Ms. Latham did a great job developing the characters. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. I can't say enough about this story and highly recommend it.

I was first introduced to Kat Latham with her book Unwrapping her Perfect Match, and I really enjoyed her writing style. When I was given the opportunity to read Knowing the Score in exchange for an honest review, I jumped at the chance and I wasn't disappointed. Both Spencer and Caitlyn have been hurt in the past in ways that make being in a relationship difficult. Spencer was arrested for statutory rape at 19 (although the charges were dropped) during the biggest game of his rugby career thus far, and that caused him to be celibate during the season. Caitlyn came from an abusive household and was scared to fall in love and repeat the cycle. The pair decide to embark on a purely sexual relationship (so Caitlyn can lose her virginity) during the off season. Well, things don't work out as planned, but I'm not going to go into details about how. I loved this story because it was more complex than your average professional athlete finding love story. Both characters had ghosts, and Caitlyn had a job that was just as demanding as Spencer's job. Spencer was a guy I could fall in love with myself because he was sweet and patient with Caitlyn. He showed her that she could fall for him, even while fighting it. This book gets a 4.5 star rating from me, along with a definite recommendation to read.

What a pleasant surprise this was! Did not disappoint. Ive never read this author & im happy to say, this was my first time but not my last. Rich storyline & characters. Enough passion & heat, without giving up the integrity of the story. It was hard to put down. Absolutely loved it.

Knowing The Score is a highly entertaining story that I really enjoyed!  I love the setting of London, the accents, and the description of people and places.  Kat really sets the novel up well with the prologue and the first couple of chapters.  She drew me right in, wanting to know more, wanting to find out what Caitlyn and Spencer's story was. Caitlyn has a lot of issues, stemming from a terrible family life and some bad experiences as a young woman.  She is insecure in relationships, and has never had a good role model for a romantic relationship.  She doesn't trust easy if at all.  Despite what she has been through, Caitlyn has done well for herself professionally.  She is smart, determined and dedicated.  If only that could transfer to her personal life too.  From the moment she meets Spencer she alternates between dumb founded, nervous, and jumpy.  He is so big...and all man...and she can't stop thinking about him.  For the most part I really liked Caitlyn.  She was nervous, but knew what she wanted.  While I could understand why she reacted to some events the way she did, it was still frustrating because she threw up walls and would not listen, she believed what she wanted to believe.  So there was a time when I was annoyed with Caitlyn, but she still grew on me and I still liked her...very realistic! Spencer is not only a star rugby player, but an underwear model!  Yes, Kat makes Spencer very easy to picture!  I really liked him.  He has a big heart, takes responsibilities seriously and is also dedicated to not only his grandfather, but his other family, his team.  I really, really liked Spencer!  He was immediately attracted to Caitlyn, but he was also very up front about any kind of relationship.  I liked the slow build of the relationship between them.  It was a fun journey to watch them come together, then heart breaking when they had to go separate ways.  When the unexpected happens in more ways than one and secrets come tumbling out of the closet, they will both need to decide if they can trust enough again and move on from the past.  I really liked how Kat wove these issues in and dealt with them in a realistic manner. I felt Caitlyn and Spencer were both believable characters, ones I'd love to hang out with or even just observe from the side lines!  They have great chemistry and are both just good people.  I liked the alternative POV Kat gives us.  I like this because I feel like I get to know more than one character in the story, and it gives it much more depth. There are a few prominent secondary characters...I adore Spencer's Grandpa!  I also really liked Caitlyn's friend Emma ... until she did something that made me lose a lot of respect for her.  She did not endear herself to me, but she worked well in the plot of Knowing The Score. Knowing The Score is a fast paced, very entertaining and emotional read that any romance reader will enjoy!

Kat Latham has added herself to my auto buy list with Knowing the Score. It brought all I could wish to find in a romance and is a superb start to the London Legends series. I didn't really go in with any huge expectations as Kat is a new author to me but the blurb definitely enticed. Now I'm questioning why it's taken me so long; for a start I love rugby but I'm also partial to a British based romance and I quickly found myself completely captivated by Spencer and Caitlin's story. It brought everything; humour, emotion and great series potential by introducing us to Spencer's teammates, but the one thing that struck me was how real these characters were portrayed and their gradual progression from strangers to lovers. Friendship played a huge part and this is why this book worked so well for me. 'I know I must look huge to you, but I'm not a behemoth.' Spencer's heart is as huge as his physique. So often athletes are depicted as testosterone-fuelled alpha males, and whilst he had his moments, mainly in his thoughts, he was a laid-back, gentle, witty and patient man. Caitlin was completely likeable; her work for a disaster relief organisation means she's faced with of the worst crisis' possible and this somewhat prevents her focussing on her own painful past and whilst it's defined her she's still a strong, determined, independent (and clumsy) woman. This story and these characters have brought a sexy, emotive and strong start to the series. Kat Latham has a writing style that flows easily and quickly absorbs you and I've just one-clicked the next 2 books and novella in the series. If they're in the same league as Knowing the Score I'll be a very happy reader. 'When I win it's because I pour my heart into the game for you.' 4.5 stars This review will feature on Read Your Writes Book Reviews. Copy received in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.

I really enjoyed this story by Kat Latham. Spencer is a pro Rugby player who is just trying to get his team to the World Cup. He doesn't want a long term relationship and he tell's all women up front that he's in it just for fun, but he's also not a player. Years ago he made a poor decision and his history has been following him ever since. Caitlyn's career as an Emergency worker has allowed her to travel all over the world. She has no roots or home which she prefers. She doesn't get close to others because that way it is harder to get hurt. Meeting Spencer was a chance meeting. He is the grandson of a man that she helps on the streets of London when he has a heart attack. From the beginning they were drawn to each other, but both were wary of their attraction. Could they keep it all fun and games? Or was their relationship going to cause them both to end up hurt? This is the first book that I've read by Kat Latham and I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be reading more. I was given an ARC to read for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.     Lori P

This was my first book by Kat Latham, but it won't be the last! It was also my first sports romance featuring rugby and I enjoyed learning more about it. I loved both the main characters and the secondary characters and I'm looking forward to reading the next books in this series!

I loved this story about an English professional rugby player, Spencer, and Caitlyn, an American disaster relief worker, temporarily stationed in London! She came from an abusive childhood, so has never become physically involved with a man. He stays away from relationships & never has sex during rugby season. They both have secrets in the past which have made them wary of becoming involved, but there is a magnetic attraction that draws them to each other. There is a lot of push and pull from their respective jobs to emotional issues, but their deep love wins out in the end!

Awesome read! Terrific writing with an incredible group of characters. Not knowing much about rugby, I found this part very interesting but the real story is that of Caitlyn, American crisis worker currently living in London, and Spencer, very hot rugby player currently at the top of his game. The two are a very unlikely pair but the pull is significant and undeniable. This is most assuredly a book I would recommend to everyone and I can't wait to read more in this series.

I really enjoyed this story! I hadn't read a rugby sports romance before so I thought the game dynamics were well explained and interesting. Both characters were engaging and the sexual chemistry between them was evident from the start, culminating in some hot and sexy love scenes. A great start to a new series and one I'll definitely be continuing.

I've wanted to read this book from the moment I first heard about it. Carina Press released an excerpt and that's all it took for me to know this book was going to be one I was going to enjoy.  I would've been happy with a hot athlete meeting his match, a good woman, with a heart of gold.  I got that and more.  I got a story that had depth and gravitas.  I fell in love with Caitlyn the moment I met her.  She's earnest and sincere.  I loved how flustered she was with Spencer's attention.  It was really sweet.  I of course was totally enamored with her as was he.  I also will admit to drooling over Spencer, and not just his physique.  I loved how he cared for his grandfather.  I also loved how dedicated  he was to his sport.  He really and truly loved the sport.  The chemistry the two had was wonderful. I was really impressed with the story.  Caitlyn's passion wasn't understated.  I love how her passion and occupation was given equal importance as Spencer's fame and desires.  I do wish either of them had been less stubborn.  Both of them wanted everything and the other, but weren't really willing to compromise. Kat Latham has really impressed me with her debut novel.  It was everything I'd hoped it would be.
