For four years, Kristina Creighton was the chef-owner of Kristina’s Kitchen in Rochester, Vermont. After a varied career in many areas of cooking and food preparation she opened her café, developing dishes using fresh, natural and local ingredients. For the eight years prior to that she wrote and published a cooking newsletter called the Practical Palate, and published a cookbook containing many of its recipes. She taught cooking and has done catering. Kristina loves to scour flea markets for cookbooks to add to her collection of more than five thousand volumes. She is now a personal chef, and sells her spice blends and salad dressing online and at farmers markets. This book contains many of the popular dishes requested by the diners at her restaurant, plus essays based on her experience in all aspects of cooking. Her love of cooking, and of serving people the food she has lovingly cooked comes through in every word.
