About the Author

A former Texas high school teacher, Tara enjoyed coaching her writing team and even the hectic deadlines that came with running the school publications. After taking a break to raise her baby girl, Tara now works from home as a cover artist.
In her spare time, Tara loves to read, exercise and spend time with her family and friends. She contributes the cover art for her own novels and has designed covers for over 500 other books. She’d love for you to visit her at where you can check out her Whispers series and sample her artwork.

The title of this review helps you with the emotions you will express throughout this book. Krysta's curse is she talks to dead people, problem is she's a teenage girl and ghosts don't care where your at (using the bathroom) or what your doing (study date with HOT lab partner)!! And have you ever tried to NOT answer someone who is talking to you wether they are real or not? Lol, ok so she seems a little wacky to bryon, the hot lab partner who has some issues if his own we learn throughout the book. Two elderly ghosts who "pop" in whenever they want and do t care what she has going on at the time. An alcoholic father who seems to not care what you do, a murder case you have info on, 2 best friends who have different paranormal gifts, and a mall you have to try to stop from going up! I loved learning more background from the officer and then her dad on krysta's mom and the reasoning behind the fathers drinking. The fact of 2 best friends who totally understand you and back you 150% at all times and the truth of distorted body images that everyone seems to have at least once in life can be related to by all ages. This is a page turning enjoyment of a read!!! 3rd book in whispers series is amazing as are the first two!!! Read them all!!!!

Just when Krysta's about to have a study date with her hot chemistry partner, two ghosts pop in on her. They're unhappy that someone is building on their gravesite and they want Krysta to stop the construction. They're not going to leave her alone until their bodies are at peace again. Frustrated, Krysta takes Bryon to a coffee shop, where they're thrown out of the shop before closing by a worker and her boyfriend. The next day, the worker turns up dead - strangled. Krysta and Bryon suspect the boyfriend's responsible for her death. Krysta knows for sure when she talks to Sunny's ghost. Sunny doesn't realize that she's dead and she's doesn't want to badmouth her boyfriend. Krysta wants more than anything to help - but when the police come looking for information, she doesn't think they'll believe in her ghost-talking abilities. Plus, she wonders if she'll be in danger by talking to the police. Will the boyfriend come after her next? KRYSTA'S CURSE is the third book in the WHISPERS trilogy, about three friends who all have paranormal powers and must face the truths about themselves. Filled with danger, the fast pace of the novel made it hard to put down.

Third installment in Tara West's Whispers series. This book explores Krysta's life, and how she handles being a high school fashionista with a special power. She considers her power, to see and speak with the dead, to be a curse instead of a gift. The author touches on many subjects that teen girls might deal with. Body issues, boyfriends, family relationships, abusive relationships, and self confidence are all addressed. I think I enjoyed getting to know more about Krysta most of all!
