I really like this story, I have read it nearly 20 times. The adventures closely parallel that of another mythological hero, Hercules, whom poiroit considers a "Barbarian, with criminial tendencies". The stories are modeled after the 12 labors of hercules. Each case revolves around these. Helps if you read the 12 labors of hercules. Thomas

This Poirot novel is divided into twelve short adventures - separate stories but all having a connection. It's great when you have a short reading time frame, like lunch hour or while waiting in a doctor's office. Satisfying plots, but not one you feel you can't put down!
