This book is so amusing, sad at times and you really get caught up in all the family drama. A wonderful story about family and what it really means. I am glad that I read it.

This book is the second in the Ladd Springs series. It picks up a couple of weeks after Ladd Springs. I enjoyed the first book in the series and was looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint me. I loved returning to Ladd Springs. I already have the third book and can hardly wait to read it. The book focuses on Lacy Owens, Annie’s sister. Lacy left town with Annie’s no-good boyfriend Jeremiah Ladd when she was seventeen. When Annie’s friend calls Jeremiah to warn him that his father has deeded Ladd Springs to his cousin Delaney’s daughter, Jeremiah decides to return home to fight for the land. Jeremiah is not interested in the land for the sake of family legacy; his only interest is in selling it. Lacy finds out that Jeremiah is returning to Ladd Springs from his current girlfriend. She decides that after eighteen years it is time to go home and mend fences with her sister. Lacy is tired of her life in Atlanta and feels drawn to go back to her roots. With the return of both Jeremiah and Lacy the sparks start flying as Delaney defends her daughter’s inheritance and Annie Ward fights for her daughter’s rights to the land. The story also heats up with Lacy’s interest in Malcolm Ward, Nick Harris’s partner. Nick is a hotel developer who is in love with Delaney and working with her on plans to develop Ladd Springs into a resort.
