When the Kensington Ladies first convened, the members were feeling a certain restlessness they thought might be relieved by exploring erotica. But they were frustrated to find that most of what passed as erotica neither excited nor amused them. Their tastes did not run to Women as Helpless Victims, but as full participants in the man-woman relationship. They decided to experiment with creating their own erotica to share with one another. Some members were reluctant to expose their private thoughts. Others felt inadequate as writers. But most were willing to share at least snippets of fantasy. Out of a slow and sketchy beginning there grew an ever-deepening self-awareness--and a wonderful body of erotica.

The ideas and fantasies were interesting but the writers were not as descriptive as I would have liked. I enjoyed the book in spite of that and would recommend it to women who enjoy romance and erotica.
This collection is fairly good, if you like mainstream erotica. Told by women and it seems for women, it might be useful for men in giving them a way to approach the women in their lives as well. Not the most arousing writing but then my tastes are different.
