Cheryl Bolen has done it again with another sparkling Regency romance. . .I highly recommend
it. – Happily Ever After

Anna de Mouchet has the stuff of which Regency heroines are made – the right stuff, that
is! – In Print

The Marquess of Haverstock is incensed when he learns the money he needed to buy crucial war information for the Foreign Office has been lost at cards to the illegitimate daughter of an English duke and French noblewoman. When the bewitchingly beautiful woman informs him the only way to reclaim the funds is to wed her, he has little choice but to agree.

Shunned by the ton, Anna de Mouchet agrees to a bizarre proposal that has her using her skill at cards to force the marquess – whom she's been told is a traitor – to marry her. As his wife, she will be free to spy on him and prove her patriotism to England. But once she marries the handsome lord, she's less sure of her loyalties. Especially when she feels her husband's silken touch.

Enjoyed the book very much. Storyline was good and the cat and mouse playing with husband and wife was so frustrating that it kept my interest to the point that I couldn't put it done. I will be looking for future books by this author.

A new twist on an often told story. Not the same old story with different names.

Not badly written, but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish. So, two stars for the rough going at the start.

Lady By Chance by Cheryl Bolen is an outstanding historical romance. Ms. Bolen has provided readers with a well-written book and a cast of characters that are phenomenal. Believing he is a spy, Anna cheats in a card game to force Charles to marry her so she can pass on information to her mother's friend that works in the Home Office. Charles and Anna's story is loaded with drama, humor, sexy bits, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Cheryl Bolen soon. Lady By Chance is book 1 of the House of Haverstock Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Little frustrated with the lack of trust but then again they didn't know each other that well. Enjoyed the family too.

not a good as her other books. cant believe how the husband could doubt and misunderstand his wife , his friend and his loyal servant.too much depends upon each not talking to each other about important happenings.

Wonderful - would recommend - didn't give it 5 stars, because slow in parts. Loved the secondary character's too and hope they get their own book.
