Overview

A Lady by Chance by Cheryl Bolen

Driven by fierce patriotism to England, the
Marquess of Haverstock will do anything to reclaim the money his best friend lost at cards, money that was to purchase battle plans from a French official.

The bewitchingly beautiful but illegitimate
Anna De Mouchet agrees to give the marquess back the money she "won."
On one condition: that he marry her.

From this forced marriage rises a love as powerful as the canons of the war which tears them apart.

Enjoyed the book very much. Storyline was good and the cat and mouse playing with husband and wife was so frustrating that it kept my interest to the point that I couldn't put it done. I will be looking for future books by this author.

A new twist on an often told story. Not the same old story with different names.

Not badly written, but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish. So, two stars for the rough going at the start.

Cheryl did a great job with this book - it held my interest the entire time - witty, fast moving, good mystery. I will read the sequel

Little frustrated with the lack of trust but then again they didn't know each other that well. Enjoyed the family too.

not a good as her other books. cant believe how the husband could doubt and misunderstand his wife , his friend and his loyal servant.too much depends upon each not talking to each other about important happenings.

Wonderful - would recommend - didn't give it 5 stars, because slow in parts. Loved the secondary character's too and hope they get their own book.
