Even the Dark Queen can't change destiny.
Tabitha has so much to learn about living with a family, and she makes her grandfather and cousins terribly uncomfortable when she doesn't fit in. She was punished for looking free people in the eyes all her life, so it's understandable she has trouble learning to maintain eye contact. And making decisions is impossible — from what she wants for breakfast, to when she's tired enough for bed, and everything in between.
Her grandfather's horses don't judge, and working with them finally helps her begin to find a path towards figuring out this new life, where clothes must be worn all day, every day.
Just when she's resigned herself to this life and is certain she'll never enjoy sex again, an invitation arrives to attend one of the Winter Queen's balls — along with a fancy gown that raises more questions than answers.
Lady is book two in the Dark(ish) Faerie Tale quadrilogy, and should be read in the correct order.

This book had me squirming my butt off while reading it !!! its sooooo good, and we are only half way through :) more to come and I can't wait. I love how the story is evolving and you would guess that this is the best it can be, but Candace has more cards at her sleeve. also any book that has other characters of Candace book realm like our favorite dragon :) is a GOLDEN STAR book in my library ... OMG can't wait for the next book aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
In this installment we get to see Tabby grow out of being a slave and more into her own being. We get to know the Queen a bit better as well and watch as their relationship grows. This is an emotionally intense story and well worth the read. I look forward to seeing where they go from here.
Ohhh, this just got better and better! We start with Tabby learning to be a free person, finding her way, being her own person. She can't get what she needs, so she figures she will live without. Then she gets invited back to attend a ball with her beloved Queen. There is an offer to be with her Queen again, but Tabby has to learn to balance not being a slave with submitting. She was so happy at the castle before, but now things have changed. She is one of the people in charge, except with her Queen, and then, again, only in certain circumstances Queen Mab has to change too, as she sometimes slips into her previous role with her previous relationship with Tabby. The addition of Rowen adds even more swirls in the muddy water Lots of magic, enchantment, and a couple of wolves, and a promise at the end that things are going to switch up again. This paranormal series has me wanting more as soon as I finish, and has me finishing it all once I start - so I absolutely, completely, love it!
