Laird of the Wind (Celtic Nights Series #4) by Susan King

In medieval Scotland, the warrior known as Border Hawk seizes the castle belonging to the father of the beautiful Isabel Scott, famous throughout the Lowlands for her gift of prophecy. During the battle, Isabel is injured while fighting alongside her men, and placed under Border Hawk's protection. As the border wars rage on, the warrior and prophetess engage in a more intimate conflict, discovering that their love for the Scottish borderlands is surpassed only by their love for each other.

This book is wonderful!! The historical facts are accurate and very interesting. Susan King writes with a depth of feeling for her characters that is compelling- James is a hero any women would look to for love, warmth, protection and honor. Susan King is remarkable. I have since bought all her books- even to find the ones that are out of print.

This story caught my attention from the first page. It had a great story line. Then it suddenly got bogged down with too much talk about training birds. Too bad...

Very few male heros leave a lasting impression, but Jamie Lindsay sure did! He was perfect. Although a little light on love scenes, I didn't mind because the sweet romance between Jamie and Isobel was blatant. A great, interesting story.

She develops the plot and characters slowly. Makes you feel you know them no matter how unlikely.

Great story line. Fast paced romance with well thought out story with wonderful characters. Loved the history. My only complaint was it ended to soon. Very well written. Loved it!

Very beautiful and sad as well to see the destruction og the Highland castles! A memory that will stick with you forever! I want to go back again! The people are welcoming and a happy lot!
