Strangely this book is only 96 pages and reads more like an introductory history of ancient Egypt for the young adult market. I say this because chapters of rather sweeping generalizations about Egypt are interspersed with chapters of fiction narrative illustrating daily life in ancient Egypt. Only a minimal amount about Carter and the tomb discovery and I am a third of the way in. The writing is nicely done, it's just simplistic. If you already have knowledge of the subject, skip this one. It's not a bad absolute intro to the material but the book description does not make this clear. I was hoping for a well researched, detailed story of the dramatic discovery of King Tut's tomb. It wasn't expensive but still a waste of money for me.
