This book was very informative on the life of one of America's most talented writers. It was interesting to read about how hard his life was and how his talent emerged even under the most grueling of circumstances. He was very well known not only in American literary circles, but in Europe, Russia and other areas where he traveled. It is a shame that America only recognized the talents of this great writer after his death.
