This darling story is well written and suitable for any age. Adult and children alike will love this precious tale about two of our most loved birds and the illustrations are absolutely adorable. Great job by W. A. Mitchell. I hope he writes many more children's books. My grandchildren and I loved this one.

Reviewed by Beth Zuschlag for Readers Favorite Yuki and Larry are hummingbirds living in the backyard of Mr. Ernest Wayne, a nice gentleman who truly enjoys the creatures that often visit him. Even though Larry and Yuki appreciate the nectar that Mr. Wayne provides them, they really want to invent something. Like most inventors, the small birds want to discover something to make life easier for themselves. As hummingbirds, they are worn out from flapping their tiny little wings together and wish to find a way to conserve energy so that they won't be so tired. Through the process of trial and error, they finally hit on a strategy that works, although Larry and Yuki need to depend on other birds in order to be successful in their new venture.   "Larry and Yuki Go into Business" by William Mitchell is a cute story about friends working together and persevering as they try to achieve a goal; and as a bonus to the reader, the artwork is beautiful. The story line is simple, as it should be for young readers. But I think it could be even better if its target audience was set for preschool age readers with a reduced word count that is as simple and clear as the plot and the pictures that support it. I will say, though, that my young son enjoyed the tale as much as I enjoyed the creative illustrations!

This beautifully illustrated children's book will entertain children while encouraging them to use their imagination. Two thumbs up for this young author choosing to write such a sweet story about two of our most beautiful birds.
