Overview

Dom Gianni takes a lot of punishment in the hockey rink, but when he sees Molly McCarran getting beaten up by her husband, he's ready to throw down his gloves and fight for her. But Molly isn't about to trust another man--and Dom is already skating on thin ice with his NHL-mandated probation. Besides, how could a hotshot player like Dom really care about a woman so much older than he? Then a kidnapping ups the stakes. If Molly can't believe in Dom, and if he can't dig deep to save her, it might be the final buzzer for them both.

Dom Gianni is a hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders, a large, strong man with a bit of a temper. He is the Enforcer for the Sidewinders, a new expansion team in Las Vegas. When Dom and a friend come upon a woman being beaten by a man his protective nature takes over. They rescue Molly and Dom takes her home to keep her safe. The problem is Molly's husband - the man who was beating her - is a cop and she can't get any protection from the police. He has been abusing her for years, and there was no way she could escape him. As Dom develops feelings for Molly, her fear of trusting anyone – plus her disbelief that a man like Dom could care for a woman like her? She is so much older than Dom and nothing like the women that hang out around the hockey players. I loved that Dom fell in love with Molly because of the person Molly is and didn’t see the age difference as a problem. And Dom is a hot shot athlete with no lack of beautiful woman wanting his attention.

Dominic (Dom) is a hockey player; I know nothing about hockey. With this book that didn't matter. He is know for his temper and anger throughout the league and gets put somewhere which is considered his last hope to play professionally. When he gets to Las Vegas he meets up with his best friend and they stumble across Molly. Molly is getting the beating of her life by her ex; a really dirty cop with huge connections. Naturally Dom just has to step in regardless of the trouble he already is in. The connection between the two is emotional and compelling. She has the shoulders to offer him in a way no on has done before on a level of complete understanding. This book will keep you reading wanting to find out what comes next. The secondary characters play such vital roles in this story it is amazingly written. I cannot wait to find out what comes next.

Ok it's about a younger man and a abused wife with no self esteem. With him she becomes confident and learns to love her self and look forward towards the future it was a nice story that expands on the people that suronds them I will read the other books that follow this book it's not a cliff hanger which I appreciate .

This book was AMAZING! Ironic that the expansion team was in Vegas and we just got official word that the new expansion team will be in Vegas. I was captivated from chapter one. I have a soft spot for enforcers because of John Scott so I absolutely loved Dom! He is not what you would expect to be the warm, cuddly teddy bear but he's definitely squishy. Molly was wonderfully written. Even though she was bruised, beaten, and had all but given up, she is a very strong heroine. If more abused women could find their own Dom, this world would be a better place. This book did a wonderful job of introducing so many characters. I must admit I have a soft spot for Toli, and I can't wait to see if he gets his own story (hint hint Kat). I love how all the guys come together in a crisis. I hope this is how a team really functions. I can't say enough good things about this book. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

It was a great read , was surprised with the older woman , come on , 12 years is hardly that much older , if the man in this story was 12 yrs older no one would bat an eye. Loved the relationship between them , it worked. As far as the domestic abuse , it was done honestly and we got the picture, lets face it , it happens and this is what the story is based on for the characters to get from point a to point b. Helllloooo....this is a HEA . The series is a nice change being hockey themed, loved it.

I enjoyed this story. Molly 's story was hard, but it was nice she found people to step up and help her.

I've started this series backwards and the need to know more overcome everything so I just wanted to start reading this series property and go from there. As everyone knows I love this author. Her words and precious books made an addict so I wanted more and more. Kat Mizera is the one to blame. Her writing is hot, wild, intense and with so much feeling between every chapter that once I started I simply couldn't stop. Dominic is the first book from the Las Vegas Sidewinders and tells Don and Molly's story. Dominic is committed to his job, a job he loves despite his temper... He's an Enforcer in the NHL and lives for that spot. But when his past demons return to haunt him, his game starts to change. He needs to get his head back into the game and when a proposal to become a player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders arrives he really needs to figure everything out. Molly's life hadn't been easy. Used to be abused by her husband she only seeks happiness but being with that piece of shi*** has become unbearable. One day she is saved by a hunk of a men and she can't imagine the turn her life is about to get. And I'm done talking... The plot was emotional, engaging and intense. The way the story progressed left me wanting to know more about these two. Things were happening and I wanted answers. This book will present us with drama, pain, violence, abuse as well as love, friendship, comaderie and happiness. No one is to damaged to find happiness so we need to fight for what we believe and go from there. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to start book 2. Thank you Kat for another amazing story. You're creating a monster, lol, addicted to your books. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book is all about the DRAMA with extra DRAMA added in to keep things interesting. Soap opera's could learn from this. What kept me reading –despite a total dislike of overly dramatic storylines –is that the characters are fantastic. Leading man, Dom, has his moments of idiocy but he’s a nice guy; and leading lady, Molly, was likeable from first appearance. I was instantly engaged in what was happening to them. The supporting cast of characters gets fully developed as well. Mizera does a bang-up job of creating loveable male characters. I’m definitely reading further in this series to see how they all get their happy endings

Good, easy read. The characters were believable and likable. I liked the storyline. Though Molly's story was a little too close to home, I think the author did a good job of showing a domestic violence survivor.

Wow! What a fantastic introduction to an exciting series! Dom and Molly certainly seem like an unlikely couple at first, but as the story goes along you will find yourself rooting for them. All of the characters in the book are well-developed and interesting, and if you are a hockey fan, you'll love the Sidewinders. The sex is explicit but not too over the top - I wouldn't call it erotica. It is hot, though! Definitely worth a read. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I honestly couldn't make it past 80 pages before I started skimming. The beginning drew me in because I haven't read any books with a way older female lead than the male lead and it deals with domestic abuse, which is always a sensitive subject. I just couldn't get past how artificial and forced everything felt. There was also absolutely no flow to the story and the character development was lacking. I ended up not finishing the book.
